Been there, done that. Of course, this was back in the 70s.....but it meant 3 weeks with the leg immobilized in a hip cast, then another month in a walking cast. I hope treatment has improved since then!
My response is: who cares. the major injury was his knee injury, this injury last night was within the flow of the game and totally natural. he fell on someone's foot, it happens. To disregard him as a part of our future is stupid. This injury BLOWS. This is fucking pissing me off. But I don't think he's going to be "injury prone", he's had a few minor injuries and a major one. The timing was bad of that injury. This is going to be a very rough month.
Let's be clear about his knee: It was a minor injury that they chose to treat with a major procedure to lengthen his career. It's not like he tore a knee ligament.
Well, he missed time in his college season due to a finger issue. I don't see how that's related, really. I don't believe in "random injury magnets." Sure, some people are unlucky, but there's no reason to predict further unluckiness.
"It's not my job to make it easy for you" in response to KP mentioning the 5 compound questions John posed right off the bat. "How long until we can call him snake bit" - John Canzono In other news KP named Martell a starter making it clear that he will start when he returns.
OK, Greg Oden hasn't been injured, except for his knee. Oh, and the wrist. Oh, I forgot, he just twisted his ankle again in his first game. I am not saying 'forget all about G-O.', Just that it might be time to adjust expectations. That doesn't make me a bandwagon fan... hell, I have been going to Blazer games since the Memorial Coliseum days. I am just trying to stay realistic.
Greg is just getting all of his injuries out of the way quite literally at the very beginning of his career
Man, I sure hope so. I feel so, so bad for Greg right now, not for me or any fans. Imagine busting your ass for a year to come back and just get injured in the first game.
