Once again Rafer Alston's ineffectiveness jumps off the score sheet. 1-6 from the field and 0-4 from the 3point line.
**cringes** **attempts to change topic** I was expecting Houston to be up by at least 10 points...with all the offense we have, but I guess progress really is a process.
The Rockets offense has been ugly. I don't know if opening game nerves or what. Their defense is keeping them in the game.
Defensive rebounding for the Rockets has been very poor. The Rockets traditionally have been one of the best defensive rebounding teams in the league. They can't lose that identity.
Don't we usually play rusty on opening nights? The last three years, I think that's pretty much our MO (opening nights that, is) I could be wrong, though. 29 seconds left, up by 9.
Game over, the Rockets win. I watched the last 4 minutes, when Memphis was up by 1. Rockets 82 - 71 Grizzlies Congrats on the W.
Rockets win. It wasn't pretty, but they got the job done. The Rockets were able to take advantage of the T-Mac on Mayo matchup down the stretch. He did a good job on the post ups. Rafer finally hits a shot at the end that sealed it.
Thanks. Sloppy Win, crappy field goals, specifically the atrocious 3 pt shooting...only 9 assist?!?! [/Simon Cowell] Bright Spot: I know Scola isn't 7 feet tall...but if they put up stats like this on a nightly basis, we can resurrect the "Twin Tower" days...Scola 12 Pts 13 Rbd, yao 21 Pts, 10 Rbd........Ron Ron, 16 pts, 3 steals.
It'll get better as the season goes on. The Western Conference will be up for grabs to your team and the Lakers. Hornets, Spurs and the rest all have a small chance, only if lets say Kobe or Tmac, or Yao get injured. (something to that extent)
Scola is uncanny with his rebounding. He knows how to get in there, position himself, and get rebounds without jumping very high. I didn't notice the low assist totals before. I think Ast/FGM ratio is usually a good indicator for how well our offense is flowing. Today's game was 36%. Ugly. You want that to be closer to 60%.
Thanks for the rolling up dates durvasa and LSR, I just read through them in one shot. Sounds like the win wasn't pretty but I'll take them any way they come.
Scola was a beast on the boards. Rafer shot horrible but made up for it by sealing the game with his only 3-pointer. Not a very pretty game, but our Big three is off to a good start. Oh and Darrell Arthur, very efficient. Looks like he'll be getting some playing time. I'm picking him up on my fantasy team
Good idea. Both him and Mayo should do well this year. They're going to get plenty of minutes on this team.
