are we still owed a draft pick for the Kidd deal in two years? Is it lottery protected?

Lets hope Antoine Wright is still starting for them in 2010, and Dirk and Howard are not :ghoti:

Is it better for them to totally suck this year, or to play well, so that Cuban is lulled into not improving the team in the offseason?

can't suck too much, a good lottery pick could help them out a bit.

I think a 6-8 seed would be best, so they don't get too good of a pick, or suck enough for Cuban to want to make a huge move, but show that they probably won't do well next year.

They are going to be horrible. They are falling into the same trap that the nets fell into. They say: Look, we have two tremendous scorers, and now we have a great ball distributor. Let's add a guy who plays good D and does the "little things" to the lineup. Problem is that now you just have two players in the lineup that can score.

They signed Gerald Green, traded for Shawne Williams and resigned Antoine Wright and DeSagana Diop. None of them will be as good as Harris. And Ryan Anderson (taken with their pick) and Keyon Dooling (acquired with their trade exception and cash) are as good...not to mention who the Nets will pick up with their 2010 pick.

they're over the cap and have no assets to trade, right? I guess they could just let Kidd walk, and Stackhouse goes away after this year. Still, they're paying $20 mill to Dampier and Terry next year. Yoiks!

I'd like us to get some second rounders this year, I think there'll be great finds, I've been looking for a wide body sf or a Maxiell type player.

Problem is, barring a trade, we'll have just two open roster spots next year: Swift's and Ager's. I think everyone else is under contract for next year. If we carry 15 players, that would just leave room for our own first and second round picks. . . and no free agents.

well that may be a good thing too. I like our rookies and soph's. They need time to play and play together.
I'm happy with the team we got, and they will be better this year than with the big 3 which i guess we can all say it was a failure. Now there is hope again cause the big men are getting the job done. All thru preseason and the first game i notice the nets kill in scoring in the paint. They have never done that before with the big 3.

We now control the paint, first time in a very long time.

    oh yeah, go nets!!!
