Pierce now belongs with the greatest Statistically, Paul Pierce always has ranked up there. But the NBA title trophy has hoisted him into the Celtics' pantheon.
Pierce is still the 6th man to me. C - Bill Russell PF - Kevin McHale SF - Larry Bird SG - Hondo Havlicek PG - Bob Cousy McHale is too damn good to leave of the list. His numbers, as good as they were, suffered because he played with Bird and Parrish. I really think McHale would have career rebounding numbers of about 11 per game had he not been on such a strong dominant line. Coming off the bench for the first few years kinda hurt his averages too. There's only 3-4 guys who could score in the post as easily as McHale in the History of the game (Wilt, Kareem, Hakeem and Duncan) and he's one of the better defensive big men of all time. Sorry Paul, this is the Celtics, it ain't easy to break into the all time starting 5. Get over 20,000 carreer points and 5,000 assist and 6,000 rebounds, THEN maybe we can talk. Or win 2 more titles
If I could dunk on anybody it would be KG. I would go up for a two handed jam and rest my nuts on his chin in the process. He would fall down and get a blocking foul while I screamed "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!!"
