Free League Pass preview on Comcast through the 4th. Also, free League Pass Broadband preview here running through the 11th: http://www.nba.com/leaguepass/online.html This is the only way to watch the Warriors vs. Nets tonight at 4:30 PST. Cheers
Thanks, Alley Oop. I signed up for it last night and am thinking whether I should buy the package or not. It's got the games on archive, so if I can't catch it live, then I can watch them when I get home. The only rub is not getting the scores from somebody .
Awesome. It looks like you can get Broadband separately now, instead of having to subscribe to the NBA League Pass just to get the Broadband thing.
Wow, nice to get the first win, but it sure was ugly. Once again, they did everything they could to give that game away late in the 4th quarter, and if the Nets were any better that's probably a loss. Warriors left 18 points at the freethrow line, I can't recall ever seeing that. The bizarre part is that the best freethrower on the team tonight was Andris Biedrins (7-8)! Another stellar game for Andris, he is really looking great this year and Nelson is giving him more minutes. Jackson finally looked pretty good tonight with 8 assists and "only" 3 turnovers. Bad shooting night for Maggette but he made up for it with 13-15 at the line. Another ugly night for Harrington (4-13). D. Nelson looked pretty decent except for 1-5 from the freethrow line, what is up with that? Unacceptable from anyone, but particularly from a guard. In Jackson, Harrington, and Maggette we have 3 volume shooters who are all wildly streaky night to night, that scares me. I was hoping for some more stability in this regard this year, but I don't think that'll be the case. With those three popping at will and Biedrins taking more part in the offense, it's going to be interesting when Monta comes back.
Yeah, that's some ugly-a$$ basketball GS is playing right now. But they're scrappy and they play hard. I love the way D. Nelson and Turiaf have brought the defensive energy and seems to wear off on the other guys. I also like the rebounding intensity with Mags getting involved on the glass. Because Baron is gone, there is no more clear #1 with everyone else below. Jax is captain, yes, but guys like Azibuike really seem to feel solid and capable of being the #1 on certain nights. I felt better with CJ Watson in there. Thanks Nellie. Still though, while having a PG in there during crunch time is way better than 1st two games, still the ball control is sketchy at best. They will have to work on that press because EVERY team will be pressing for 40 + minutes as long as Nellie tries to play guys like Jax / Az at PG. Overall ball movement and passing is lazy and sketchy. There have been some terrific passes and plays, and it really seems like the guys want to play well together, so I think this is a chemistry thing as the new players sort of gel together. Hopefully their overall game will look smoother as the next few months progress. We still should be looking to trade for a PG, though. Oh, and my MVP from last year, Beans, yeah... he's looking like he could be a candidate for all-star this year...
Demarcus has always been a poor free throw shooter. He shot 58% or less there in college. He is really not a good shooter, and you can tell that by how much space his defender gives him to shoot when he's on the perimeter. Nonetheless I liked how he played. I thought he had a decent-solid game. I agree that the Warriors were a bit fortunate to have played against an inferior team, because that kind of performance near the end is not going to float out West. I am not sure if this is an effect of the officiating or what, but I've also never seen a Warriors team get to the free throw line so many times, and have such a big free throw shooting difference. Finally, Azubuike is awesome. I am happy that the Warriors got him back from the Clippers this offseason. He made a dumb turnover late in the game, but his offense is looking good.
I doubt we'll see sight of any rookie until somewhere near all-star break. Maybe we're also showcasing Harrington at SF/PF which affects Randolph/Wright's role on this team. Plus, maybe more Azu at point guard means more bellinelli at shooting guard. Hopefully, the Nelson at point guard experiment ends soon. We need somebody who can shoot decently and is basketball saavy.
