I have has Dish for 8 years and have NEVER had a complaint, EVER! BUT........................ I have been having problems recording games on my HD DVR these past couple days and games are not showing up on the guide. So I just spent the last hour on the phone with these jackholes and they informed me I am the first person to call and let them know about the problem. They said that dish and the nba are in "serious talks" to hammer out a deal! What? I have had the pass for the past 7 years. I use it for work on a daily basis and can't believe this is happening. I was wondering if anybody else is aware of this. I think the free preview will be over in 3 days, and a lot of people will soon find out. I am switching tomorrow. I plan on Direct, because I refuse to go over to Comcast because their DVR is horrible. I don't think I can get Fios here in the N.E.P. I would love it if you guys can give me some feedback on this and recommend what I should do. I would never ask your opinions on something like women (because most of you are geeks and play video games!) And that is exactly why I'm asking for your help with something like this! Once upon a time I had DirecTV with a TiVo. It was before HD was really an option, but it was great... League Pass and Sunday Ticket and a dream-like interactive experience.

Now I have Comcast and I get HD... but the DVR sucks and I can't get the Sunday Ticket.

    OK. Enough whining.

Sounds like Dish is on the verge of pissing a lot of people off...

I have High-Def DirecTV and love it. Of course it sucks that the Blazer games are on CSN though... I would appreciate it if you would give me some advice on how to score with the ladies...

The dish DVR is very user friendly. My father-in-law has comcast and the DVR just seems clunky and slow. I have the dual tuner HDDVR and love it. Does Direct have the same? With the ladies, I suggest you hook up with DaRizzles mom or sister. Both are freaks! What about Fios anybody? Come guys, step up and help me out.

I have a DVR and it works fine for me, but to be honest I don't know how it compares to the one Dish has.

I think I'll pass on DaRizzle's mom or sister. I'm not really into inter-species dating.

He didn't say he had good advice on scoring with the ladies, only that he wouldn't ask us for any advice with scoring with the ladies.

I though think your best bet for action is if you get a hand puppet.

I've got 2 tuners on my dish I think. I have a TV in my living room and another in my bedroom and they each have their own receiver. The DVR box is in the living room. I don't know if I can record 2 shows at once as I've never tried. I guess I'll have to read the manual...

The DirecTV DVR has a dual tuner. It's not as good as your Dish DVR but it should be better than the cable DVR. DirecTV use to have the best DVR when they were working with Tivo but when they started using their own DVR technology quality and speed went down hill. Good news is DirecTV is working with Tivo again and will have a new DVR out next year. If you want some information on the current DirecTV DVR and how it compares to your Dish DVR check out the reviews at http://reviews.cnet.com/best-dvrs/

Dish has the best DVR hands down! I've had Comcast, which is by far the worst DVR ever invented, a TiVo which I loved, Direct with TiVo is Good but Dish gives you dual tuners just like everyone else but it also works in two rooms as well. The only other company that offers a dual room DVR is FiOS but you don't get CSNW in HD with them either. Also note that with Direct you will have several hundred in startup costs if you want HD. I believe it's 2-300 for and HD DVR plus that will only be connected to one TV. If you want a DVD in another room as well I think it's another 100 bucks and they don't work together, you need to program things on both boxes. Stick with DISH and setup a slingbox at your father in laws house! But wait......... he got my wife fired screw him and you!!!!!!!!!!!!! DIE HCP!!!!!!!! DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS I can't believe you didn't call me and ask me about this before posting on this board, I'm disappointed in you.

Good info. Listen to this guy HCP.

However, my suggesstion is to (consider) play the system. Cancel Dish. Sign up with Comcast. Suffer with their crappy dual-tuner DVR for 6 months (while getting Blazers in HD). If Comcast doesn't come up with a better DVR by then, then sign up with Dish or DirecTV or FIOS as a brand spanking new customer with the big sign-up discounts.

All Motorola/SA boxes and their respective interfaces suck bigtime.

It sounds like Ed needs a Tivo HD with cablecards. :D I'd highly recommend it.
