Sam Caplan from 5OP is reporting that former PRIDE middleweight Denis Kang has signed a four-fight contract with the UFC. Kang (31-10-1) has wins over Akihiro Gono, Ninja Rua, Amar Suloev, and Andrei Semenov. His last fight resulted in a TKO win over Marvin "The Beastman" Eastman in the first round. Dana White reportedly considered Kang for a spot on The Ultimate Fighter in a past season. To date he hasn't thought highly enough of Kang to add him to the UFC roster. His recent (blowout) victory over Eastman might've been the qualifier.

he must have lost a lot of bargining power with his 2 losses in the last year. Yeah they've been against top shelf talent.. but who do you think he's going to face within 1-2 fights if he can win right away?? That's right Anderson Silva.. and he's going to get creamed. I wonder if this means Kang isn't going to defend his Spirit MC belt in Korea??? I'm still a fan of Kangs, but this is not nearly as exciting as it was a year ago.
IIRC SpiritMC was under the ProElite umbrella, so I don't know what will happen with that promotion. I don't think Kang can defeat the gatekeepers (Marquardt, Henderson, Lutter) so I don't think he'll get a title shot.
I do have questions about ppl who can put him on his back. But I can see Kang vs Bisping and him winning and getting a title shot because they don't really have anyone else to promote vs Silva.
as a person that trains with Kang he did not sign with UFC because in Asia he is a god and the pay was way more than what the UFC initally offered read more on the UFC signing at http://www.fighting-mma.com/mma-news/2008/denis-kang-signs-with-ufc.php btw he will kill Bisping look at link at his training
show me a top level UFC fighter that doesn't have a ridiculous work out routine. Kang's a great fighter, but he'll have problems with guys like Hendo, and ground wizzards like Mia IMO. He'll demolish the Leben's and Bispings most likely though.
seeing as how Dennis Kang is a top 15 MW talent.. who do you guys think Kang should face as his first fight? I believe he's going to get 1-2 fights and if he wins them he'll get a title shot. Kinda like Rampage, Anderson Silva and Nogeuira. I think he'll get a stand up fighter in his first fight. Top 3 who I think he'll face; Ed Herman Michael Bisping Wilson Gouveia okay make it 4, Martin Kampmann I would have added Leben and a possible suprise bout with Robbie Lawler, but Leben tested positive, and Elite is going to tie the contracts up so lawler probably can't move over before that issue is settled. Patrick Cote would have been a great choice too but he's injured. For a 2nd fight, I could see it being Okami, Henderson, Mia or Nate Marquart, which are all dangerous fights but winnable by Kang. If they don't want a stand up fight for Kang, I could see Jason MacDonald or Dan Miller as his first opponent too. did I miss anyone who would make a great first fight for Kang?
I don't think they'll put him up against someone with submissions right off the bat. I think they'll put him in with a striker. Maybe Alan Belcher or Jorge Rivera?

I don't know when he'll fight or who but I am excited that hes finally in the UFC. I always like supporting canadian fighters especially someone from Vancouver.
http://mmamania.com/2008/11/10/denis-kang-vs-alan-belcher-ufc-93-fight-possible-for-jan-17/ Joe Silva isn't the most unpredictable guy in the world, is he?
