I am taking an online class (I didn't want to take it online but it's the only one they offered) and we are doing team projects. These team projects tend to be a huge part of the overall grade (this one is worth at least 175 points and that doesn't include the completed site) but my teammates aren't doing anything. We have to design an XML website and have already had 4 assignments, none of which have gotten done. I have tried to push my teams into doing something, even making a skeleton website which only needed some style added (OK, and a little content) but nothing. Even with the personal websites they aren't doing much, we can see each others sites and I have everything that we have been assigned posted on my page, while two of my teammates have the first assignment, and two others have nothing. I don't want to drop because I already have so much time and money invested in this site, but I also don't want to fail because of my teammates. What should I do?
Inform the professor of your situation and ask for more time. That's what I would do from what I understand
same, that seems the logical thing to do. Who knows you might get moved to a better, harder working group of people.
There is only one group as the whole class only has 5 people in it. There where a few more but several people dropped before the refund period ended.
This sounds like a bizarre situation with only 5 students enrolled and 4 of you are on the same team. I would confront your professor and ask him what your options are. One option you might want to push for is to allow you to complete the course, and finish the projects by yourself so you get credit for it and the 3 other slackers in your group don't benefit off your work.
