I'm looking forward to the release of the new Dre album. The new Eminem album could be good too. People like Lil Wayne have completely turned me off rap. I can't think of the last time I actually went out and bought a rap album. Maybe it was one of the 2pac albums that they released a few years ago.

Here's the difference between lil wayne and what was once a great form of expression. Hip Hop used to tell a story. Used to have soul. It was a form of poetry. What is it now? Dance music. It's no different than any of the other R&B that comes out today. The only difference between an R&B singer and a rapper is that the rapper thinks he's hard and tries to play himself off as a badass.

I challenge you to post any of lil waynes music here. One of us will post something that will beat the living shit out of it.

See this is what I'm talking about. All that crap that's being played on the radio is doing what you just said. Turning people away. There is still great hip-hop out there. Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, The Roots, Lifesavas. Trust me there is still quality out there, it's just being overshadowed by the mainstream bullshit!

Here is one of my favorite Wayne songs right now. Post a song that you like that is similar, lets be honest with each other and say what one is better. Don't get me wrong... Wayne is not close by any means to my favorite rapper... but his new album deserves respect... and this song is DEF hot. It is calm, serious, emotional (not your typical stupid ass club song. I HATE club songs) this is a good track. If you can't feel this track... damn, I dunno what to tell ya.

I'm happy Lil Wayne is so free with his opinion. I look forward to bumping this thread when GO is putting up a double double with 2-3 blocks per game in a couple of months. And speaking of busts, how soon before someone busts a cap in Lil Wayne's ass?

Don't get me wrong fams... I hate the radio too. I don't listen to it. I am just saying that there is still good hip hop out there besides all these old rappers you listed. You just have to find it.

Now that is uncalled for. We do not wish injury on other players in basketball. Why wish death upon a rapper? Come on man... :smh:

I think the national perception of Oden on draft day was he was going to be a franchise type player until proven otherwise.

Now I think the national perspective is Oden is a bust until proven otherwise.

The media can be very fickle, but I wonder how many Blazer fans would be thinking the same thing if Oden was with Oklahoma City. Let's face it, if we drafted Durant, and OKC drafted Oden, we would be laughing at OKC, saying told you so and KP would be promoted from being referred to as a genius to a witch.

Hmm... I don't know that I agree with this. Pritchard might be given props, but I don't think that anyone on the planet would blame the Sonics/Thunder for taking Oden at #2.

Heck... I don't think that many people are really blaming the Blazers for taking him at #1. It's still just so early in his career and he's not even 21 yet...

Oh dear... his lyrics are the worst...

I like the Weezy song "Mr. Carter" w/ Jay-Z... but even the lyrics in that are pretty bad.

I like you a lot man... you are always way cool in this forum and BBF. But this is where we agree to disagree :)

Do you understand half the lyrics he is saying? Most people don't. He speaks very subliminal and to top it off... he freestyles every single song he does!!! That is incredible!!! Check out that track I posted earlier in this thread. Very cool song. Not a trashy club song.

This is also a very good song.

I wouldn't call Oden a bust at all. He's only played 13 minutes so far in his pro career (outside of preseason). He hasn't really had any shots to perform.

I don't exclusively listen to hip-hop but the stuff I do listen to isn't that mainstream crap.

Here's some of the stuff that I generally listen to:

I don't see how an injury ridden player can be called a bust. A big man like GO is definitely going to produce once he's healthy.

I hardly know anything about Lil Wayne, except that he is some kind of a preformer/singer.

The thing I do know about him is what he posted on that blog you pointed out.

I think he does not know what he is talking about concerning Oden however. Oden is not yet dominent as he has played only 13 min. of NBA basketball so the sample is quite small, don't you think. In collage he was quit dominent. In the few min that I saw against LA he was fairly good actually. He did do most of what he did with a broken foot. We just don't have a very good sample of NBA centers that have played on a broken foot to compare too. Seems just a little unfair and rather stupid to say what Lil Wayne said as he certainly no expert anymore than I am. ??????????????:sigh:
