Carmelo Anthony has said he is going to try and drop 44 points in honor of Obama being elected as the 44th President.

    I hope he fails miserably.

Am I the only one who sat down to watch the game on TiVo only to find that the Comcast ESPN went black after a few minutes of the game? Grr. Well, based on the boxscore, B. Wright is having a real breakout game near halftime, excellent to see! Well OK, not see...I can't see it because Comcast and/or ESPN screwed me, but nice nonetheless. BTW, the SD ESPN feed is still on.

EDIT: I meant the ESPN HD feed that went black.

Wright is the man! The guy is really skilled, but I wish he could shoot free throws.

I am watching the game on ESPN360, if that helps you become able to watch the game.

Thanks Clif, I can watch now on ESPN in standard def, it's just that I set the TiVo to record the high def feed and then when I went to start watching it later, discovered the feed dropped out a few minutes into the game. :sigh:

Why does it feel like we win more when Harrington isn't in the lineup?

I knew this core could do it!

    C: Biedrins
    PF: Wright
    SF: Sjax
    SG: Kelenna Azubuike
    PG: CJ Watson

How DeMarcus Nelson won the starting job over Watson makes no sense.

Oh and the reason it seems like we're losing with Harrington in the rotation is because he sucks as a big man and he doesn't even want to be here.

Plus, we get D, passing, and shooting from CJ Watson. Wright actually changes more shots than AH and he's a better offensive rebounder because he rebounds other people's misses.

Biedrins dunk looked pretty sick. He got the handoff and starts driving hard toward the hoop and dunks over Nay nay

Your guys' game is very exciting. Oracle Arena is a great arena to watch a game in. I mean if GS is ever playing a home game I like to watch cause your crowd is amazing.

    I watched Wright block a K-Mart jumpshot.

Biedrins just fouled out, but great game by him.

    Nene failed on that dunk.

Anyone catch that Nate Thurmond reference?

I think Nelson outplayed Watson in the preseason, just a bit. So it was kind of a toss up. It's good to see Watson actually have a good game. He wasn't impressing me that much before today's game.

What a game! We started out the game like we will lose by 100 pts. Then, Wright came in and energized the team. Biedrins-Wright line up was quite impressive especially defensively. Four skinny and long arms appeared everywhere for whoever tried to drive, and that really disrupted Denver. And, as Biedrins becomes more offensive minded, Wright took old Biedrins' garbage man job. Both players recorded 30 pts, 24 rebounds, and 8 blocks. Jackson once again gutted out, and he really bothered Anthony, when they needed him the most. Both Azubuike and Watson were highly productive. And, I guess they have something to do with Smith not dropping usual 50 pts on us.

Well, again Harrington was not productive, and he tried to do something that he is not good at one too many times. And, Harrington just didn't look athletic especially next to Wright.

Can't get enough Biedrins-Wright. And, once Randolph (Almost same length and probably even more athletic than Wright) becomes a player, we will have three skinny and long athletic shot blocking front court. Drool...

This was a beautiful game to watch, for the most part. CJ Watson and Azibuike were the two most fluid, natural-looking players on the floor for GS. Wright let the game come to him and he was everywhere at the right moment. Beans called for the ball, got it, and dominated inside. The team defense was terrific for the last 3 quarters. Azibuike kept hitting big jumper after big jumper. Turiaf provided the enthusiasm. I mean, this was pretty damn exciting for me to see Wright and Watson get heavy minutes. This is what I'm talkin' bout!

It's almost like Mags being out was a good thing. With Watson and Az on the floor GS can actually dribble the ball, survive the full-court press and push it on the fast break. I hope Nellie "learns" from this (in other words gains some confidence in Watson, Az and Wright) and adjusts. Because the Warriors team that showed up tonight can vie for a playoff spot, no question in my mind.

    I miss Ronny :(

And I wanted to see Chauncey run with Denver...

Wright looked great, and this was my first chance seeing Belinelli play. Has a very nice shot.

I think that's absolutely right, I believe that had a lot to do with the result. Not that Maggette is a horrible player, but maybe he and everyone else will realize after this game that it's a team game and he doesn't have to try to take the whole team on his shoulders every night (if that's what he's doing, I'm still hoping he's not just an ambivalent, chucking ballhog).

So happy to finally see Wright get some minutes, and as he almost always does when he gets minutes, he delivered. And not just minutes, but important minutes. Very refreshing. Let's see if Nellie rewards him with some more. Here is Wright's line for his career when he gets 10 or more minutes per game (19 games):

    16.3 mpg | 7.0 pts | 62.5 FG% | 4.6 reb | 1.2 blk

Not too bad, the kid is ready to play and he needs more minutes! Obviously he's still going to get abused by the Yaos and Boozers and Shaqs and Duncans, but he should be able to contribute against most teams. Imagine what he can do if they actually start running plays for him.

We really thought Mags was the problem? Azu basically does the same job that Mags was doing. Play the inside/outside game and hit the glass and try to hustle on D. The issue all along IMO was that Harrington gets way too many minutes for a guy that doesn't want to be here and doesn't solve any of our problems at either forward position (like how to deal with the midrange game, playing help D, getting to the foul line and converting, rebounding, and passing the ball). On offensive flow, Harrington is basically a big ballstopper because he can't finish or pass to the open player and he's not crafty enough to avoid getting stuffed at the hoop. Even a supposed ballhog like Mags still passes for 3 assists a game, converts inside, and he works the foul line which makes it easier to attack the defense and milk the free throw bonus. Harrington is a Troy Murphy, I swear. He puts up numbers, but he doesn't do anything significant towards the team game except collect stats and every now and then make some hustle plays.

Wright (who is a real power forward prototype compared to Harrington) actually makes plays at the rim, blocks shots, can catch bad passes, and does the garbage role like Biedrins does. It's like having two Biedrins on the floor. We add in CJ Watson and suddenly the ball is a lot more under control. Watson (if we notice) goes for midrange jump shots and looks more like a point guard than Nelson when it comes to floor leadership and running the offense). He also plays pretty good team defense and was in a position to rebound a lot better in this game (Nelson would try to camp inside the paint along with the bigs which allowed the rebound to sail over his head into the opposing team's hands). Nelson was clearly out of position on some of those plays, where CJ Watson was right where he was supposed to be. Both he and Azu are very smart basketball players, but I don't know so much about Nelson and Harrington. I think those guys got skills, but they suck in terms of the team offense/defense game and knowing where to be and what their role is.

That's just my opinion though. If we find our role players for PF and PG we are absolutely fine as a team. It's just the bench may be a little bit thin if we rely on Jax, Biedrins, Mags too much. We'll definitely need help from others besides Azu and Turiaf and it'll have to be about playing D, shooting well, and making good passes.

    Some quick thoughts:

Wright was obviously the highlight of the night yesterday. We all know hes capable of doing this its just a question of playing time and consistency. I can't wait to start playing him heavy minutes. It'll probably be a bumby road of development for him but it'll pay off big time.

Biedrins is a friggin STUD this season. Hes actually become a legit option on the block, improved his rebounding, and hes stepping into the captain role as if he were a 30 year old all-star. He looks like hes leading the team on the court and vocally a lot more than previously and so far he's making a great captain and proving to be a top center in the league. Still having foul trouble but that brings me to my next guy:

Ronny fuggin Turiaf. I love this signing by Mully. Marc Jackson said he was the best reserve big man in the league and I think I have to agree with him (save for maybe McDyess/Maxiel in Detroit). Hes got obvious flaws that will likely keep him in a bench role for his career but just having a competent backup C is a HUGE upgrade for us. Imagine where we'd be if he was on the team last year? Or during the Utah Jazz playoff series two years ago? I think he lets Beans play his game better because he doesn't have to worry about fouling quite as much. When Turiaf's in we know we'll still get that hustle, motor, defense, shotblocking, and he even brings a nice little mid-range shot. Could improve his rebounding though and he fouls A LOT. I still love the guy off the bench. Very solid and a huge addition to our team.

Watson was kind of an unsung hero for us last night. Hit most of his open shots and the offense was much, much better with him in. Granted it was only against Anthony Carter. Its just a lot easier to get everything going with a guy who can beat a press, push the break, etc.
