[ed. note: lol at the title of this fast break.] It’s going to be a long, ugly, frustrating season for both the fans and the players of the Denver Nuggets. But please don’t get grumpy with me, your friendly messenger who only wants to help you play, coach, or manage basketball. The Nuggets lost to the Utah Jazz 98-94 in Salt Lake City in the 2008-09 regular season starting game. The seemingly inevitable Jazz win was a closer game than I expected, particularly when you consider the Jazz very rarely lose at home. It’s almost like a law: no one wins in Utah while Sheriff Sloan is around. But the Jazz were playing without one of the best point guards in the world, Deron Williams. True, the Nuggets were playing without one of the best small forwards in the world, Carmelo Anthony, who is suspended for the first two games of the season because he was out all night relieving stress after the Nuggets squeaked into the playoffs last April and was caught half drunk lane weaving while driving down the interstate during a predawn hour. You see, Anthony is one of the best players in the world, but his team is so badly managed that it was by the slimmest of margins that it even made the playoffs at all last year. So the big discrepancy between those two facts (world class player but chump class team) created some stress for Carmelo Anthony and he had a little too much to drink and… You get the picture.
Re: Fast Break: Carmelo Anthony's Suspension is Partly Due to Him Being on a Chump Te This Nuggets forum has died and gone to heaven for now. There has been no pickup in views for the start of the season so far. I've already checked into overall traffic at various sites. Now I'm going to check some other team forums at this site and see how much of their traffic has been lost in 2 years. There are many sites where the only forum that gets a substantial number of views is the general NBA forum. This site used to have a good number of views in many of the team forums, even the Nuggets, but it's not happening right now. Laugh out loud that this was about the only topic in the Nuggets forum recently that received more than about a dozen views in one week. I finally realized this week that this forum has a much higher percentage of "Iverson can't do this and Iverson can't do that and Iverson can't..." people than any other forum I know of. They are everywhere, but they seem to be more numerous and "fierce" here. Since Anthony has a roughly similar playing personality (sorry for the word, it's a bad habit I have picked up from reporting on Karl) the kind that draws easy criticism, people hit on this topic to consider whether to rip into Carmelo Anthony. Then, realizing that the Nuggets really are hosed up, they decided not to bother.
Re: Fast Break: Carmelo Anthony's Suspension is Partly Due to Him Being on a Chump Te melo needsto be traded to a big market to ever realize his star potential. playing defense wouldnt hurt either.
Re: Fast Break: Carmelo Anthony's Suspension is Partly Due to Him Being on a Chump Te It's time to go everywhere he goes on the internet and post that and pray someone he knows personally sees it and tells him what's up. But actually, as this topic is stating, I think he already suspects this. Looks like he will know for sure by the end of this season, if not sooner. Teams Melo could play for and have a great career in my opinion would include Atlanta, Indiana, Dallas and yes, the New York Knicks. Should be either a major market or a truly serious small market team, such as Indiana. How can Denver be considered as a truly serious franchise right now, when they now are literally going back in time as if they want to establish an "old timers team," one that the older generation will come out and root for. Laugh out loud that Dice refuses to play for Denver again. But it's sad at the same time for Denver. In all seriousness, the Nuggets have hosed things up so badly that it seems to me that the odds they are going to drop to being a 25 wins team within 1-3 years have now reached about 70%. Chauncey Billups? Would have been a really nice move--about 3 years ago.
