Some of you guys are out of your mind thinking we are going to win all those games! Crazy! I can't wait to see how crazy this board gets when we are 9-9 AT BEST!!!! You guys are setting this team up for failure!

What are you talking about? You think that fans will cause the team to lose games because they are excited and optimistic? Whatever.

 

Yeah, i think what he was trying to say is "You guys are setting yourselves up to be disappointed".

 

OK listen up. If you are like these other guys on here and really think we are going to tear this league apart right away you are mistaken! Excitement and optimism are great, but when they do not win every night, there is going to be a lot of angry people on here in 2 weeks. And don't ever use the term "whatever" with me again son!

 

I predicted 9-9. Hardly tearing the league apart, right? If the team goes 7 & 11 in that stretch, will you be one angry hombre? Do you think it will doom the team to failure?

That's your opinion, but I can guarantee that I won't be one of them. Seems like you're changing the subject, though.....that's not even close to the statement I was responding to:

I think HCP is hitting on an important note... how would fans react when they team they thought was going to make the playoffs... let my Greg Oden... goes 0-5? If that happens... I think some people will call for Nate's head.

It *won't* be the end of the world... just the end of a tough schedule stretch. This team *is* going to be good, and if we get out of November with a .500 record... we are going to rock they rest of the year. If not... things will still get a lot better. Unless of course we panic and fire the coach... and trade xyz for Carter who messes up our chemistry and spiral down into oblivian.

Whoops... got sidetracked... back to HCP... people will judge the team as the difference between their expectations and what happens. If they expect them to win 13 of 18 and they win 6? That will be a huge disappointment I would think. I think that is what he is saying... and I think I would agree that in general some expectations are a bit high right now.

Now the team will perform how they perform... doesn't matter what we think. No one thought they'd win 13 straight last year but they did... and we needed every win of it to just get to .500.

 

No, the team won't fail or succeed based on people's lofty expectations, but I'm with HCP I think there are some people around here who are setting themselves up for some heartburn and hand wringing ... and people are fully entitled to freak out and howl at the moon when/if things go off the rails, but some of us aren't looking forward to opening up our browser and being bombarded by all that angst.

It doesn't really matter to me, if things get too nasty around here, I'll just skip the hassle and stick to blazersedge to get my fan fix.

It's building ... I expect full fan meltdown if we somehow drop our game against Minny.

 

Or if you guys drop BOTH games to Minny, that would be bad.

I agree. I honestly don't think that is going to happen. I think these guys will leave for the big ass road trip on a good note!
