Is the city of SF still saying they are going to fight to keep the name 49ers if they move? I know they were. One time you hear the Chargers will move to LA then hear they wont. Why did Charlotte get another team in the first place after they lost the Hornets. Just thinkin to myself as to how the names Kansas City Hornets Las Vegas Bobcats(or Seattle Sonics) sound. San Diego Clippers sound good. Marlins who knows. Ive heard they were building a new stadium in Miami.
The last I heard was that SD Qualcom stadium is pulling the plug for the Chargers after 2009,Via ESPN. So the SD area better act fast or the Chargers could be out of the SD area, possibly to LA. On another note, also via ESPN..The NFL is asking the Raiders and the Niners to share a new stadium because of economic reasons. Ugh not another Jets/Giants scenerio. I suppose they both could be named the SF Bay 49ers & SF Bay Raiders.lol
The Marlins will be getting a new stadium in the Miami area(2012?) and will be known as the Miami Marlins.
