Each frame is presumably a thirtieth of a second, rather than a third. Otherwise the clock was WAY off.

I'd expect 3 fps from CSNW but not TNT. ;)

Actually, the announers pointed out that the shot clock didn't start at one point late in the game, so in that sense the Blazers did get some extra help. Who cares though, we won.

Depending on when that was, maybe Yao wouldn't have had as much time to shoot, etc., etc.

    We won. Yay.

Yeah the 1/3 part doesn't make sense. Otherwise, it took him 8 seconds to shoot that!

About the announcers mentioning that the clock did not start, it was a situation where the player inbounds the ball but the other player does not start dribbling. Brandon walked next to the ball almost up to half court and then started dribbling. The person in charge of the clock was correct in NOT starting it until B touched the rock. Reggie mentioned it to Marv. I was on the TNT crew last night in the truck and we showed Marv, Mike and Reggie during a commercial break what happened and they realized they were wrong. Just like we showed TMac's shot late in the 4th was a 2 and not a 3. If it means anything, I got a chance to see Brandon's shot from multiple angles and he clearly got it off.

Strange, since it is a rather obvious point. The clock stops on any whistle.

So, the clock shouldn't have kept running through the entire shot attempt. Why do you feel Portland actually lost??

I've read this thread and I re-read it and all I keep wondering is this:

Why did the Blazers ACTUALLY lose?

I'm no expert on the rules of the NBA, but I believe that when a whistle blows, the clock should stop. Assuming that my understanding is correct (and I should probably research it just to be sure, but I'm sure someone in this thread can correct me if I'm wrong in believing that the clock should stop when a ref blows her/his whistle, so the clock stopped in accordance with the rules when the ref blew his whistle to indicate that Yao Ming was fouled by Brandon Roy on the field goal attempt) then the Blazers actually WON because the clock should stop, as it did, when the ref blew the whistle with 0.8 seconds left in the overtime period.

So DaRizzle... can you clarify what your thinking is here?
