TV: CSNBA, CSNBA HD Radio: KNBR 680 I find it interesting that Al Harrington is out for an MRI, and meanwhile David Lee didn't start for the Knicks tonight either (although he came into the game later). Or I dunno, maybe it means nothing. Anyway, I assume Wright will get the start tonight, although with Nellie you never know. Does anyone know if Maggette is back? I think so, but I'm not positive.
Mags is still hurt. Man Wright already got taken out for Randolph. WTF? I love this group of role players: CJ Watson, Turiaf, Azubuike. Highly competent basketball players who possess the skills we need for those positions. Randolph looking good so far as a shotblocker and outside shooter.
Even though we lost twice to the Grizzlies, at least this game Nellie played a lot of the young guys. Very encouraging. As many have said, they'd rather lose and have our young guys play (and develop) than win using the same tired old group of guys.
A lot of good things in this game, but too many ugly ones to go with them. Biedrins was his usual solid stud self, going a ridiculous 9-10 from the freethrow line, and Randolph looked pretty good in his first real NBA action, although he took a lot of outside jumpers, I'd rather not see him taking too many of those. Jackson was not as terrible as previously (only 2 turnovers), but was pretty awful shooting once again, could not help himself from 3 point range (0-6). When you shoot 9-21 and it improves your average, you know you are in trouble. Is it just me or did Hakim Warrick have about 35 power dunks in this game? You could cut a whole years highlight reel on this game alone. Well, I know we were missing Monta, missing Maggette, and without a real starting PF, but this game is disappointing. I really didn't think they could actually lose to the Grizzlies at home, it's embarrassing.
I was really hoping for the Warriors to make better passes and hit more free throws. Instead Biedrins traded places with Sjax at the foul line and our "smart" players kept making mistakes. It was also sad how we didn't put these guys in at the same time: Biedrins/Turiaf/Randolph or Biedrins/Wright/Randolph. We needed rebounding power and guys were trying to shuffle around trying to block shots and get deflections that they forgot to REBOUND! doh! That was frustrating to watch. Plus, it would have been nice to see Belinelli get more solid blocks of minutes. He was actually playing defense. He was a disappointment at the foul line and shooting it, but I think it's a problem of confidence. He just needs to get out there and drop one of those las vegas games that he had.
