So, fouling Yao was actually a SMART play by Roy as it gave the Blazers the extra possession that let to the game winning shot. Without the foul, time expires while Yao's shot is in mid-aur and we're headed to double overtime. With the foul, the clock stops on the whistle at 0.8 and Roy hits the game winning bomb. Gee, that Roy's a heady player. We all thought it was a stupid foul at the time and cost the Blazers game. It was obviously Roy's plan all along. He's just one step ahead of the rest of us. BNM
I didn't sleep much last night. I felt something was fishy about the game, specifically the Yao shot at the end. I woke up and went too my biology lab class. We are talking about cells, but in front of 500 people I had to stop and ask Professor Clambey, "when a player is fouled the clock is supposed to run right"? He fell down crying, because he had no idea. Biology couldn't answer my question. So I went to animal behavior. Surely Dr. Reed would be able to tell me. We were talking about intrasexual relationships, once again, I had to stop that. There were more important things to talk about. I brought up the game... Dr. Reed committed suicide. She had no idea. Her doctorate in zoology from Iowa State couldn't answer teh qeustion for her. Next was math. Although it's math for dumb people, surely Katherine Circles brain could help me find the answer to his question. Shouldn't the clock keep running until the ball is in the hoop? I asked her... she couldn't contain the rage. She flipped desks, threw overheads, tore paper up. She was so mad that she didn't know. I didn't know what to do. I walked around the streets of Fargo, cold, lonely. The rockets won taht game. They were cheated out. I fell down crying, I couldn't live like this. I couldn't be a fan of this. This was all a big fake crap crap hole. I started crying. yeah guys, I was crying. A nice homeless man stopped and started talking to me. When asked what was wrong and I told him, he simply said... "Oh yeah man, actually the clock stops as soon as the foul is called. Therefore the time keeper was completely justified in stopping it with .8 seconds left. Don't worry man the Blazers won." Then we high fived. So yea, if anyone has any quesinos about the rule (rizzle) just message me and we will work this out.
So, DaRizzle, by now you should know any Blazers basher worth his salt gets his facts straight when bashing on a Blazers board. I think we should make this a sticky thread so any other Blazers bashers can learn from DaRizzle's example.
We should take it easy on DaRizzle. After all he's use to Lakers clock management at home after a Laker makes a game winning shot. He just doesn't know any better.
Actually, there was, which is why the review took so long. The head official counted frames (each 1/30 of a second) between the time when Roy caught the ball and the time it left his fingers, disregarding the red bars, etc... The number of frames? 23. 0.766 seconds.
