Listing to Mike and Mike today they was talking about the Lions and the Thanksgiving day traditon. Shuld the NFL stop giving us this game? And what do you think on a whole of the Thanksgiving day games?
I like the idea of the games on Thanksgiving, but I can't say I'm too excited about any of them this year. Titans @ Lions...Seahawks @ Cowboys...Cardinals @ Eagles. That last game could be a good one, but the other two could just get really ugly.
They need to stop with the annual games in Detroit and Dallas. What the NFL should do is just pick three of the best games they can and schedule them on Thanksgiving, regardless of location (time zone permitting).
Granted we do get to see the Titans at probably their best on Thanksgiving. I'd leave it. But I'm not against changing it
No point in changing something that's successful. Plus, with how hugely popular the Cowboys are, it'd make no sense to yank them off the slate. The Lions are replaceable, especially considering how awful they've been for the past few seasons.
I love the tradition of having games on Thanksgiving. I hate that some of those teams are predetermined already. The league should be doing their best to put excellent matchups on these special occasions and boxing themselves in like this just makes that more difficult. This season is the best example of that, with the Lions being more pathetic than usual and the Cowboys being on the verge of implosion.
The Cowboys have poor backups at the QB position, that doesn't mean I'm writing them off yet and they can still be quite entertaining if Romo stays on schedule.
