I just got to thinking, wouldn't it make sense for DishNetwork or DirecTV to go ahead and buy XM and/or Sirius satellite radio? Dish/Direct already provide music from them, anyway. However, in this scenario, they could could offer the complete listings, then upcharge the television customer, say, an additional $5.95 per month. Plus, they could sell independently, as well, to any of those radio subscribers that prefer..... such as the ones that have car units, etc. Sound like a plan?
They utilized their own satellites I believe. I know Sirius has 3 of their own in orbit right now (I was actually researching this two days ago). I believe the spectrum is different. As for the satellite radio, I believe they are just simply licensing the content, not getting content from their satellites itself.
Sirius XM is about to do a reverse split of their stock, which means I'm going to lose a lot of money. I really hate this economic downturn!!
A stock splitting (or reverse splitting) doesn't effect value. It may be the result of value declining but it's not the cause.
