But isn't part of the problem the fact that when Lopez is in the game he gets limited touches at best? They have him setting screens at the top of the key and thats about it. He doesnt get the ball when he actually has good position or when he's cutting or rolling. He only gets the ball when theres a few seconds left on the clock. go figure.

Has any one else noticed that the "dribble drive" offense has been nonexistent?

as far as I can tell, they aren't even running it once per game, which is just ridiculous. Whenever anyone drives, they should just be aware of where everyone else is on the court, and whether they are open. Isn't that just a common basketball skill? Court awareness?

Man, it's better than when John Hollinger used to post at that other site. He just could never resist rushing to Jason Collins' defense.

I just showed the clip to Mrs. Dumpy. She responded, "Oh, Dumpy, you've gotten yourself into quite a mess."

They ran it on several possessions last night. Of course it didn't look worth a crap, but the only time it ever really looked good was in the first quarter in London.

Really? I've seen it in Detroit and Washington (the games I watched), and not just one or two players either.

I tell you what has looked good for short stretches, and that's the Nets' zone defense. You can't stay with it for long periods, obviously, but the best defensive moments against Detroit and Indiana came when they were zoning. This collection of players instinctively seem to know where to react to cut off penetration and where the next pass is going to go. We've gotten a few turnovers and some key stops using it.
