Simmons + Yi for Caron Butler Wizards are 0-5 Butler's 10pts(4-13) vs Magic > Yi + Simmons 8 pts (2-15) vs Pacers
How bad is Butler's contract? I mean I like his game but I don't want to jeoperdize any chance we have at landing an elite player in 2010
That'll never happen, but I'm far from down on Yi. He's inconsistent, obviously, but his rebounding and defense have shown some improvement, and his stroke is a thing of beauty, even when it misses. His combination of quickness, length, smarts, and stroke still make him a candidate to be an elite big forward, and I'm enjoying watching his journey, bumps and all. I do think that Frank needs to find a "go to" play for Yi when he's struggling so that he doesn't let the inertia of missing shots take over, something young players are especially prone to. I think isolating him on the wing/baseline about 15 feet away is perfect. He can face up his defender, jab step for room, and release a short jumper. He's scored on that play several times going back to preseason. In fact, I can't recall him missing in that situation. All you need to do for someone like Yi is get them that one nice jumper, enough to recalibrate the muscle memory. After that, he could reel off his next 4 shots, and his whole game would see an uptick. So Frank really needs to focus on coming up with SOMETHING (this or something else, even a baseline curl for a catch and shoot jumper at the elbow) to get Yi a good shot when he's missing. He hasn't done it yet.
Ok, let's do a Bobby Simmons + Sean Williams for Mike Miller trade already. The Wolves are 1-5. Get 'er Done Thorn!
Nice. I wonder what was the over under till someone started to criticize coach on the job he's doing.
O wait i got an idea lets not trade anyone so we have enough cap space to go after a superstar in 2010
Unless your talking about Carlos Boozer the big FAs don't come out until 10/11 which is when our salary cap will be at 23 million, I could say who we can knock off to get it even lower but that would be WW3 here.
no its actually the summer of 2010 thats why everywhere you hear about it they say 2010 and if the nets wanted to be a top team they would have never shipped away Rj. You clearly dont know what the nets are doing for the next two years
He is right, its the summer of 2010. Each of those players has a PO of 17 million that year that they are obviously going to decline.
No I know what you were talking about my comment was about how in Summer of 2010/11 we are already under the cap by a wide margin. What I meant to say was (How much under the cap do you want to get) because 10/11 we are at 23 mil if they extend Devin probably 30-34. Unless you were speaking of getting under the cap in 09/10 then I'd understand the get under the cap reasoning but we are already there.
