    I'm not really following the problem.

    x = yz
    x^2 = xyz
    (x^2)/z = xy

    I dunno I'm confused too. I came up with the same exact answer, but it's not one of the choices...

    Anyways, JCB are you sure it's the answer, or are you just guessing? lol.

    Well, just multiply both sides by y, and you get xy=(y^2)z

    EDIT: 4,000th post. yippee.

    Yeah, JCB is right.

    x = yz
    xy = y^2 * z

    Multiply both sides by y.

    This is what happens when you haven't had a legit math class in 5 months. (Economics math doesn't count because it's too simple).

    I think I might be forced to take a 3 hour philosophy course on Saturday mornings with the way my schedule is shaping up. Next semester might suck.

    It's going to be impossible sitting through a 3 hour philosophy course each Saturday. Good luck.

    Believe me. I know. I took a philosophy course last year in HS and had trouble staying wake even though the class was only 40 minutes.

    This professor is supposed to be really good, so I guess that helps . . . a little.

    The placement of my business courses throughout the week is really screwing me with regard to what else I can take. So far I have intro to environmental in addition to macroecon and stats for business. I need to two more classes.

    Well what I did was...

    Summer before Freshman year, I took two Econ classes (Micro and Macro for Lower Division) and 2 General Ed classes. Then during both Freshman semesters I went to both my university and a community college by my house. That way I only took my majors courses (ALL of my lower division) at my primary university, and only my General Ed classes at the community college....I was taking double my classes, but I'm done with all the classes that have nothing to do with business, so now every class I take, everyday in school, it's strictly business...now I take less classes with a stronger business emphasis.

    Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW)

    That's kind of similar to what I'm doing/going to do. My whole plan rides on the assumption that I get into the Rutgers Business School. The only way to get into the RU Business School is to go through the RU School of Arts and Sciences, which is where I'm currently enrolled. While in the School of Arts and Sciences, you must fulfill their graduation requirements (ie: minimum of two humanities, one natural science, one social science, one interdisciplinary etc). At the same time, you need to fulfill the entrance requirements for the RU Business School, which are rather straightforward; if you meet the requirements, you're in and if you fail to meet the requirements, then that sucks for you:

    1) Maintain an overall 3.33 GPA.
    2) Get a C or higher in: Intro to Microeconomics, Intro to Macroeconimcs, Intro to Financial Accounting, Intro to Stats for Business, Calc I, and a business computer course that I can't recall off the top of my head.

    I currently have my Calc I credits from my AP exam last year, and I'm doing the Micro this semester. As I've indicated, I'm doing the Macro and Stats next semester. I can't do the Financial Accounting until my sophomore year. And I haven't checked the computer course, but I plan on doing it with the Financial Accounting course.

    Once I fulfill those requirements, I can enroll in the Business School after my sophomore year. Once I'm in the Business School, it's solely business courses that I will be taking. So, basically, my last two years at Rutgers will be business requirements.

    The big thing I've been focusing on is the 3.33 GPA. I can get that fairly easily, but I don't want to take any chances. Because if I fail to maintain that mark, I cannot get into the Business School and I'll be screwed (meaning I'll have to wait a whole extra year to apply). Because of this, I'm trying to take fairly easy requirement courses now (like the Environmental course), where I know I should do well. I also want to take some courses over the summer to get some of the requirements out of the way.

    I also need to maintain an overall B average in order to keep my scholarship, which is something I didn't even think about until 2 weeks ago. This Calc II class I'm taking now is really killing me.

    We call that computer course ISDS down here (Information Systems and Decision Sciences), in my calss it was strictly Microsoft Excel and Access with a side tangent on technology as a whole (concerning computers). Financial Accounting is something you have to watch out for, if you don't have the Accounting mind, then it can be confusing and difficult. At CSUF, even though it's only a Cal State, our business curriculum is top notch. Our pass rate on the first try for Financial Accounting is 66%, meaning a third of the people you see in your class will retake it, and a third of THOSE kids, will retake it for a 3rd try. So be careful.

    Yea, one of the RU Business reps mentioned this when I was debating whether to go to Rutgers or Michigan. Rutgers is one of the best schools in the country in preparing its students for the CPA exam. Tough stuff.

    I don't plan on becoming an accountant though.

    Yeah, accounting is just good to know in general even if you aren't an accounting major. But other than that, it was unnecessarily hard for me. I mean I figure they should make the lower division accounting a tad easier considering not everyone is taking that class to go take the damn CPA exam.
