I am bipolar. Have I mentioned that here before? It's a terrible terrible illness but I have the right combination of medication now and am feeling much better than I was two years ago. It was horrible.
You should give some of that medication to my sister. I swear I want to take a shovel to her skull sometimes.
Could someone update what Harris did in his last game? I think he was like 0-1243 or something. Could be wrong though.
Like this, I cleverly posted this obvious bit of sarcasm to get someone else to point out how the kid had a good game...just so I could make another witty remark.
People often criticize me for picking at Devin Harris by pointing out one game. But let me point out his AVERAGES: 4.8 assists per game. 2 turnovers per game. 39% shooting. Is that really what we want out of a PG? Is that really worth giving up Outlaw for? Can people now admit that the deal was a terrible deal and we all would've regretted it?
Devin Harris is not going to be a star, but he is really, really good. He has struggled a little bit to start the season, but we think that it is partly because the entire nets team is new, and everyone is trying to figure out where they fit into the offense. About half the possessions, the Nets use Vince at the primary ball-handler, and Devin as the off guard, which has cut down on his assists. The game against Detroit showed how special he could be; he sored a career high despite spraining his ankle bad enough in the third quarter that he had to miss the next game, and possible tomorrow's game as well. Let's put it this way: There are some in NetsWorld that think that he is better by himself than Jason Kidd (forgetting about all the other door prizes we received in that deal).
I agree with those people. Not nearly as good as Kidd in his prime, of course, but better than Kidd now.
I think we should go after Devin Harris ONLY if we can put his Jersey in the rafters before he plays a single game... Think about the pressure it would put on him to perform...HE CAN'T FAIL!
I think the real issue is that nobody around here really gives a shit about Devin Harris, and you are the only one obsessing over some trade chatter that occurred about a year ago. That being said, you are seriously undervaluing his defensive contributions (as well as ability to get into the lane almost at will) and cherry picking 5 games or so to focus on instead of taking into account all of his previous production. I suggest the following: http://moveon.org/
YES! I'd give up Raef, Sergio, Blake, Outlaw, Webster, Frye, 1st rounders for Harris (obviously not all of them) I'd give up anyone outside of Roy, Aldridge, Oden, Rudy and probably Batum, Bayless and Przybilla for now. Hell i'd probably give up Bayless and Przybilla also, lol! Best part of his game is defense, and that doesn't show up so much in stats.
Devin Harris tonight: 30 pts, 6 rebs, 8 asts, 2 stls, 1 turnover. I'd take that over the 5 points we got out of our point guards tonight.
Not so much inconsistent as indecisive. He is still figuring out how to balance his scoring and his team play, as the 2nd scoring option and starting point guard. That's tough, especially for a guy who could rely on excellent offensive players to do the scoring in Dallas. He doesn't have that in NJ, with only VC as a guy you can depend on to score over 15 points every game. When he manages to get his scoring and passing balanced, he does very well (like against the Pistons and Hawks). Once he gets used to his role and to his new teammates, Harris will be very dangerous. I can see him averaging 17/4/6 by the end of this season.
