Will someone please explain to me the value of a McDyess on this team? I personally think O'Bryant will make a fine replacement for the bigs on this team. O'Bryant certainly showed us that he could carry some of the load during the preseason, and I think if he's given a shot, he could provide much better late season coverage than this old has-been. And let's face it, if the Nuggets can't find a use for him, what makes the Celtics think that they'll get anything out of him either?
The only value i can think off is he provides that vet off the bench who can help the 2nd unit by taking and making good shots and playing under control. Kinda like PJ Brown without the really good D. Like I said I'd rather see O'Bryant and Powe get more minutes and have them primed for the playoffs.
We have like 2 and a half million to spend, and a player in Brian Scalabrine who would be very easy to cut right now. If you can sign McDyess, why wouldn't you?
good point. I could even live with dumping Glen Davis... I never liked that pick. Sure he's motivated about being skipped but overweight guys NEVER keep the weight off so if he's dropped for McDyess.. I can live with it.
