I could tell you I saw this coming... but I'd be lying.

How good is Oakland now, assuming this does indeed happen? Anywhere close to the Angels?

... really really bad trade for the A's. If Beane was considering turning Holliday around and trading him at the deadline, he better look at the road-home splits. Don't think Holliday will be worth much without playing half his games in Colorado.

Read on another forum that the A's are sending Carlos Gonzalez, Greg Smith, and Huston Street. I'll post a link once my other message board source does.

    Wow.

They have to be making a playoff push of some kind, because this is far too much to give up if they just plan on flipping him for more prospects at the trading deadline. Whether Oakland can actually make that push is another story. I don't think we've heard the last from the A's this offseason.

The rockies are going to get Huston Street and turn around and trade him. This is going to be a really good deal for the Rockies and should really improve them in a few years especially in a weak divison.

Billy Beane is smarter than all of us. I withhold my judgment.

Because he has written a book? He's made a fair share of bad moves too.

I do wonder about Billy Beane at times. Was he too scared to take the Red Sox job years ago as he was afraid it would ruin his image, or he wasn't sure the extra money could help him get a team into the playoffs and to win it all.
