Here's a snippet of todays NY Post

If the Bobcats are unable to satisfy my Paper Clips, the backup plan is to pursue lesser lights like the Nets' Sean Williams. Judging by the 6-10 sophomore's lack of daylight, he's someone the Nets feel they can do nicely without.

Sources say Charlotte would be willing to give up Matt Carroll (owed five years, currently $5.05M; ending at $3.5M) and take Trenton Hassell's two-year obligation ($4.3M/$4.3M), as well as Williams' two-year debt ($1.52M/$1.63M) off New Jersey's books.

Interesting. This move would essentially be in opposition to what the team is trying to do (clear up cap space for 2010), but Carroll's salary is front-loaded. Definitely intriguing.

wow. I'd do it in a heartbeat. Caroll is a good shooter - exactly what this team lacks if Carter doesn't make a basket. Also we'd cleared a logjam of bigs.

What? No way the Nets give up Sean Williams and hurt their capspace for 2010 for Matt freak'n Carroll.

4 PPG a scrub, yes he can shoot but who gives a crap at that deal...hes garbage he has a little fluke run to get that deal, and Jordans a moron when it comes to making deals or drafting.

we giving up hassell who only has 2 years 8 mill left and sean williams who has value at 1.5 mill

    get real people

Matt Carroll or LeBron James lemme think

matt carroll is a great shooter and i would have no problem with that casue we lose Haskell and swat who clearly isn't ready for prime time for a solid bench player who will help the nets inside outside game a lot.

    pull the trigger thorn.

Carroll would help immediately while you won't see anything from sean for a while.

I hope he gets traded for HIS sake. He's a Net second and an athlete first. An athlete wants to play, period. For all you people reading this post with the power to get the deal done PLEASE, get Sean in and get him playin....consistantly. If another team gave him the opportunity to play more, I can promise you that one of his best games would be against the Nets....Please trade him. I dare you......
    From, An athlete.

No way. Carroll's contract is horrible and he won't do anything more than Hayes or Simmons are already doing.

You pay for shooters, especially one of Carroll's caliber. He's also a guy who can bring the ball up and makes the smart pass. He's not Raja Bell type defender by any means but the dude works his ass off and Frank would adore him.
