*The arena was void of any music, sound or video being played on the scoreboard when Greg Oden came out and started warming up, which in this day of the NBA is odd in and of itself. I don't know if it was coincidence or planned, but shortly into Oden's warmupo routine, the video scoreboard came to life, and blaring out of the speakers was Commissioner David Stern's voice:

"With the first pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, Greg Oden!"

What followed was an NBA-TV Roundtable special on Oden, which included his sitdown session with some of the greatest centers of all-time (Walton, Russell, David Robinson, Ewing, etc.)

Was it to psyche Oden out, or at least get in his head? Some on the Blazers traveling staff wondered aloud.

But Roy's definitely playing.
 
I'm soooooo excited. I want Oden to play all 48 minutes!!!!
 
ESPN said no Marion tonight... and if Roy can play the whole game, I give ourselves a good chance to win this game.
 
I agree and I can't stand listening to Berry. I can't get CSNW so I will take even having to listen to Berry with getting to watch the Blazers on TV.:cheers:

Considering Miami has no one to get Joel in foul trouble down low, he'll get his usual minutes so I think we'll see Greg with 4 mins left in the first after the first TV timeout.

At least its not Bill Walton commenting. I can't stand Bill Walton changing his comments harshly when one team is up, saying that they are unstoppable and still can't praise the other team for coming close in the game.
We'll see whose the starting five.

And Roy just took a shot Travis would only take on a heat check, but it went in.
 
Jon Barry: Roy is "not a great jump shooter, more of a scorer".
 
Batum just put a breakaway layup attempt by Wade into the stands.
 
Good look by Blake giving up a 3 to assist Batum's dunk. I wouldve expected LMA to dominate Haslem more so far....and there it is.

Wow Miami has no inside presence at all... we could get all the offensive boards if we want them.
If the Heat is going to win, they're going to have to make 50 plus percent of their jumpers of 15 feet or more.
