I know some people cringe at the idea of Hughes and taking on Nocioni's salary, but I'd still do this if the Bulls would.

    Trade Machine

Only adding about $4.9mm in salary in 2010 because Sean was scheduled to make $2.1. Rather add $4.9mm for a starting SF like Nocioni than add $2.2 for Carroll. Team will still have about $20mm in cap space in 2010 if we don't keep Najera and Dooling. And Nocioni can be a valuable trade piece in a S&T to formalize any Lebron deal.

We get rid of Simmons, Hassell, and Swift. Chicago gets a desparately needed big with potential in Williams and huge salary savings of $5mm next year and $18mm over the next 4 years.

    Our line-up:
    Harris/Dooling
    Carter/Hughes/Ager
    Nocioni/Hayes/CDR
    Yi/Najera/Anderson
    Boone/Lopez

That's a balanced team with good defense, good shooting, and a lot of energy.

Because Nocioni can also play the 4 the eventual odd man out is Najera and hopeful we can trade him to a contender in January and pick up either a pick or a young player.

I like it a lot from the Nets' side, but remind me why this is good for the Bulls? I know they get rid of Nocioni's long term contract (which isn't that bad), and they have Deng as their 3 of now and the future, but are they really getting much in return for a starting caliber forward and rotation-quality guard?

While Nocioni would be very good for this team, I think in order for Chicago to even consider this deal they would require Brooks Lopez instead of swat, which I would not do.

I dont see why Chicago would want Sean. They have Noah and T. Thomas

Just youth without any teammates to help guide them is hard to develop.

harris and yi and boone are very nice prospects. harris can take this team by himself and grow into his own.

The salary saving is big for them because it gives them $10MM in cap space to play with next season (Boozer, Marion, Wilcox, A. Parker?). Plus they are getting abused every night upfront. Both Swift and Williams can help with that. Noah and Thomas are not working out so well for them so maybe they would like to add Williams to the mix.
