Everytime a team I'm rooting for goes into OT, I'm reminded of how terrible the system is. Oh well, the Pats made way too many mistakes in this game. They had no business being in OT anyway. BTW, anybody still saying Cassel sucks? 400 yards, 3 tds, 0 ints, 60 rushing yards.

Yeah I guess. About the over time rules in the NFL, soccer had the same dumb rule a couple of years ago, when the first team to score a goal would win and the OT would stop. Now they've gone back to the old rules where if the game goes to over time, they reward both teams with two 15 minutes halves for the over time, and even if goals are scored, they still have to play the whole 30 minutes, so that way the losing team still has a chance.
My idea for a better OT system is no field goals allowed. Keep the sudden death aspect, but make a team have to really earn it. Right now if you win the toss, you only have to move the ball 30-40 yards to win the game. To me, it's stupid to play an hour's worth of football, then you hand over an easy win to the team that wins the toss.
