Alright, so I haven't seen very many people at talking about this performance tonight by GO, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place... I know we lost, and I know it's really his first real game playing with confidence and he only played 24 minutes... BUT.

3-3 from the field 5-6 from the stripe and NO TURNOVERS! He looked tired, and was breathing hard, but he looked really into the game and not out of place.

I was reallly really stoked. Maybe that's just me and I'm a homer, but I'm freaking excited. Go us.

That is all. Your thoughts on his night tonight?

According to Real GM, he had an FIC40 score of 28.3. Not quite sure how the hell FIC is measured or if anyone really cares about it, but one of the best FIC40 scores in a single season by a player since 1990 was Michael Jordan's at 23.9 (and David Robinson at 24). Not bad for a second real game.

Anyways, I am super duper excited to see how Oden develops this season. He is going to be redic.

Yeah I thought he played pretty damn good for 24 minutes. 11\11\4 no TO's ??? Not bad. And those blocks were huge.

And just the presence on both ends of the floor make him even better. Oden does a lot of things that don't show up on the stats sheet, but really help the team win.

    The blocks were my favorite!

Hopefully, this fine performance by Greg silences - or at least hushes - some of the doubters and haters out there. This is a nice confidence-booster for Oden. I hope he does even better tomorrow against the Wolves and help us get the win.

I thought he played great and it was really sad that we weren't able to celebrate it with a win. I think he'll play better in the next two games and then he'll have a smashing home debut against Chicago on ESPN. 20 & 10. Just you wait.

We played against one of the best teams in the NBA on their home floor.

That we lost shouldn't really shock anyone nor be counted against Oden's performance.

    Lopez > Oden!! :P

Great showing by Oden in limited time. Hopefully he doesn't go fracture his patella while making an omelet before next game.

Hell, we even beat the spread! (7 points was the spread, btw).

Oden's 11/11/4 in 24 is really encouraging to see. Over 40 minutes, that's 18/18/7, which is simply ridiculous.

I loved what I saw from Oden last night, but I'm tempering my excitement until hearing that he awoke in one piece...

The best sign, for me, was that he didn't get called for goal tending on that HUGE block. One of the biggest collective concerns was that he wouldn't get much respect from the refs early in his career and would be in constant foul trouble. Getting the benefit of the doubt on a play like that is a sign that his defensive reputation will be established quickly.

His EFF for the game was 25 in 24 minutes. That's incredible production - especially considering he only attempted 3 FG.

He would have fouled out at 35 minutes, however, if you carry the fouls into the analysis.

That's the best part IMO. Plus he only had one offensive rebound; that won't be the case as he continues to get healthy.

Watching it in real time, I thought it was a goal tend and the reply showed that it was indeed on it's way down. I think it totally caught the refs by surprise and they swallowed their whistles. He came from the weak side and it was a high arcing shot. I just don't think the refs were expecting anyone to block that shot and were caught off guard.

Definitely goal tending, but really fun to watch. I guess his hops are still there.

Two of those fouls were very late in the game on Chris Paul. They were good fouls as they stopped the clock and kept Paul from getting easy lay-ups. Prior to that he had 2 fouls in 22.5 minutes. Which is very acceptable for such a physical player - especially a rookie.

Yes, and a great big F-you to Gavin Dawson and his idiotic anti-Oden rant yesterday morning.
