The guy could not be stopped. I had NEVER seen him play that well. He seemed like a legitimate top 10 guard in the league to me. His clutch shot from what I'm guessing was around 27-28 feet was surreal. Looks like the Hawks didn't overpay for him back when they signed him from Phoenix after all. Also, I looked at the Hawks' roster and to be honest I'm not that surprised that they've done well so far. They have a solid team; I think they can make 4th or 5th seed in the playoffs easily this year.
Hawks are a great team, pushing boston to 7 games in the playoffs, undefeated only losing to Boston by 1 point with a buzzer beater...and by us, and we didn't beat them with a buzzer beater Johnson is very underated, definitly top 5 or 10 in NBA
Hawks have a nasty team, it's that simple. If they had a better coach, they would be even scarier. You gotta give credit to owenership for bringing these guys in and making good choices. Joe Johnson is a fucking monster. Dude is one of the best scorers in the league, jump shot wise. To leace him open is as dangerous as leaving Kobe open. The dude can flat out knock down any jay from anywhere. MIP for sure.
As noted, the Hawks were exhausted at game's end, particularly on defense. Johnson was their only option. Remember this is (or was) the third best defensive team in the NBA and the Nets scored 64 points in the second half, 42 in the fourth quarter and 20 in the last five minutes. That kind of acceleration only happens when the other team can't handle the offensive pressure their opponent is bringing.
