Beautiful game. our guards came up big with 30 pts by each. and our bench provided energy and hustle got too love it.
These past 3 games have demonstrated the ideal dynamic that a scoring point guard should have with the rest of his team.
Oh, and Harris did all this with a bad ankle. If only he had 2 healthy ankles. And his jumpshot has improved alot.
Last year after win against Dallas Cuban traded us Harris for Kidd. Maybe we should win against Cavs this time for them to ship us Lebron for Stromile , Ager and cash consideration.
I hope Anderson gets a steady flow of 30+ mins from here on out, esp. with hayes' 3s missing now. I'm tempted to pick up Anderson in my 10 team fantasy league, drew gooden always pisses me off with stupid hairstyles and wack layups.
Another great win, Carter and Harris did their usual thing while Hayes continues Brook's scoring tonight.
Great team win! Devin once again with a very efficient, controlled, and productive game. Dooling with the big lift in the 2nd. Vince in the 3rd being as gaudily on fire as only he and a couple of other players can be (someone on another board posted "Half man, Half Court Shot!", LMAO). Brook playing a monster defensive game. Ryan showing why he's been the most consistent and reliable forward on the roster. Hayes doing usual offensive damage off the bench and once again playing with great energy and spirit on the defensive end (he better not be seriously injured!) Sean having a couple nice moments and not screwing up too much. Yi not doing much offensively but still competing well defensively and on the boards in his limited minutes. Ladies and gents, we have a team.
It is imperative for the Nets guards in the next game to get the ball to Brook Lopez and Ryan Anderson, we can not continue to live on the perimeter so much especially vs Cleveland and next time Yi needs to learn to take the blame for the foul instead of hanging his center out to dry. Great game by Devin/VC/Anderson ...Lopez played good after he returned shut down the post game of Atlanta we need to pair him w/ Sean on defense that way he's not 100 % preoccupied to play it.
whats wrong with Yi? i only watched the end of the 3rd and the whole 4th... but Yi didnt play at all... im happy that anderson and lopez are playin but just wondering whats wrong with Yi.
Devin Harris is turning into a monster. Guy is looking like Tony Parker on steroids out there. Or maybe Tony Parker on steroids is Devin Harris? Mr. Anderson! He is The One. I love this guys game. He's so smooth and doesn't look like a rookie at all. Is he better than Yi at the moment? He seems to have figured out and adjusted to the NBA 3 point line and those shots are falling. Sweet. They need to get him more involved in pick and pop plays with Carter and Harris so he can unleash those 3's. Luckily Carter caught fire there in the 3rd and helped give the Nets a cushion going into the fourth. Dooling was solid again. Hayes gave a nice lift off the bench. Hope he is alright. Don't want to see Hassell or Simmons getting extended minutes. Nets need to get an upgrade of some kind at the 3. Either someone who can slow down opposing star swingmen and let Carter rest a little on defense and focus offense. Or get someone who can score and make the defense work.
You know what was great for Vince tonight? He could actually be a shooting guard. It's a luxury he has almost never had as so much of his prime years have been spent being the guy that drives the ball inside, isos, or otherwise draws defensive pressure and moves the ball away from it. Even when he's away from the ball, there hasn't usually been an offensive threat on the other side deadly enough to draw Vince's defender over very far. So I loved that one play when Devin broke somebody's ankles (probably including his own!), sucked every defender in the area code to the lane, and found Vince on the right wing for a wide open 3 when he was catching fire. As Vince continues to age, he will have to rely more and more on his long range shooting, and it's great that he's now got a backcourt mate who can create those kinds of open opportunities to help him prolong his career and preserve his stamina for the end of games.
