Seriously, I'm afraid dude will disrupt our chemistry that we're starting to build. LF will have to play him, otherwise he'll start bitching like he did in Memphis.

I agree. I would hate to see him take minutes away from our young players.

If Sean Williams barely gets minutes, there's no way Stromile will get to play. Frank isn't that stupid.

Yeah, but I don't think we have to showcase him. Everybody knows what he can do or what he can't do.

You know who needs a 6 million expiring contract? The New Jersey Nets.

just to clear this up for you guys, swift never bitched about minutes in memphis, or anywhere else during his career. he and coach iavaroni had an argument during a blowout loss, but no one aside from those two know exactly what that was about. he never publicly complained about not getting minutes before the incident, and i don't think he did afterwards either. the man has had one incident (and pretty minor imo) in his 9 year career, that doesn't make him a headcase. he is actually considered a shy, laid back, mild mannered type of guy.

i'm not saying he should play big minutes when he comes back, i'm not saying he is the greatest thing since sliced bread, i'm just giving you guys the facts. they certainly don't indicate that he would somehow ruin this teams chemistry. i think he's going to get traded anyways.

    flame away.

I just think it would be a shame if Stro takes minutes away from our young bigs. I have no beef with him, but this is a REBUILDING team and I don't think he fits in the rotation anymore.

i understand that point of view, it is fair, i wouldn't even say you are wrong. i just don't think there is reason to believe he will ruin this team's chemistry. nothing from his past suggests he will make public complaints about minutes or anything. if he doesn't play at all for a long period of time he may wish to be traded, which is understandable, it is a contract year for him and he is probably looking to prove he is worthy of another NBA deal... but i don't think he will give you guys too much trouble.

IF the Nets have a chance at making the playoffs, I see no reason not to play him. If he is healthy, he can add to the team, whether the young players get a few less minutes or not. If the team has a chance to win, it would be be just as important for the young players to experience that. It should be a meritocracy. If any of them--rookie or vet--can prove they can play well in practice and in games, they should play.

Besides, not all these guys will be around in two months. A trade WILL be made.

also swift was playing decent before he got injured so I think it will be tough not to give him a little minutes.

throw the dude in for 10 min what does it matter. i rather see him play than najera, simmons or hassel.

i am just worried about cdr. i hope he doesnt fall out the rotation. he was coming in the game and bringing energy. him, dooling, ryan, hayes and sean off the bench. thats a 10 man rotation.

Thanks for your perspective, StroShow. Dumpy said something similar when I raised the now-familiar allegations that he complained in Memphis. The Internet has helped isinformation and careless purveying of "fact" become an industry all its own. I'm glad to have the record set straight by someone who followed the situation closely.

As long as Stro is a team player, I have no problem with having him around. If we do end up trading Boone or Williams for a PG or something else, he will be needed for depth and as a backup 5. And his shotblocking, length, and athleticism is of value in practice when Brook and Ryan are trying to improve their ability to get off shots around the rim.

    Hopefully. :)

Stro sucks. He messes up chemistry and easily has the lowest basketball IQ in the league. Stay away from him.
