Kind of interesting. Bulls are ranked ahead of Jazz, Magic, and Raptors, but well behind the Pacers. Seems a little high for the Bulls, but it's early yet. Perhaps most interesting given the fact that bulls have a crowded backcourt and start a rookie guard and are now playing BG even bigger minutes is the fact that the Bulls have the 9th lowest TO ratio. However, that is probably at least weakly correlated to the fact the bulls have the 24th ranked Ast ratio. A lot of individual play, but at least they aren't turning it over at a high rate.
Hollinger's ratings are number based I believe. His are the one's I don't put a lot of stock into. I think 12 is high for the Bulls, but not that high really. Chicago is a good team, but not 4 possitions better than Portland, which has a better record after a harder schedule. You guys get the Lakers tomorrow I believe, and that will push you way down on that list because their offense is so good as well as their defense. Unless you pull an upset, and then feel free to disregard everything I just said
Check out Ben Gordon's 82games.com numbers. Especially the defensive side of things. How many ways can you say "WOW!" ?
Yeah...but who cares if he is one of the best defensive shooting guards in the league. Think about the bigger shooting guards posting him up! Think of the post ups!
I don't want to be the wet blanket, but those numbers are skewed greatly by the early season rotation. But hopefully it's a trend.
Gordon is the least of my concerns. Well, besides Rose. I mean, for all the time spent talking about his height (it's basically the story of the day every fucking day in the beat writers' stuff), I see quite a few more obvious problems this team should be worrying about first.
