Chris Paul 5. Dwight Howard 6. Dwayne Wade 7. Kevin Garnett 8. Joe Johnson 9. Brandon Roy 10. Amar'e Stoudemire
Pierce is the best player on the best team in the league. He hit the clutch basket vs Atlanta. He had some game where he scored 22 in the second half. He has been delivering the goods. And that is why he's #1.
Pierce is the most overrated player on the best team in the league. LeBron is a FAR better player! In fact LeBron should have won MVP last year, imo.
Pierce went head to head with LeBron in Game 7 last season and Pierce's team came out on top. I think LeBron should win MVP this year and every year, but I can see how Pierce can be considered a fair contender.
PER isn't everything. Look at how he carries his team to wins. Look at game 7 last year. Look at the game winner against Atlanta. It's like Brandon Roy. His stats aren't as impressive as his game is.
Pierce has a ring. LeBron has won nothing. Nice player and all that, but he hasn't delivered. Pierce has.
An argument can be made, though, that if LeBron played with Ray Allen and KG, he'd have a title too. He'd probably sweep through the playoffs 16-0.
not everything, but the fact that he's #47 in the league is a pretty good indication he's not contributing at a level that's really deserving of being #1 in anybody's MVP rankings. roy has better stats than pierce.
I thought we were talking about MVP for this year, not previous accomplishments. Also, by that logic, does that make Robert Horry a better candidate for MVP than LeBron?
Lebron hasn't delivered? What rock have you been living under? Look at the man's production, his track record in the playoffs, his worship by the people here in the city of Cleveland. In what way has he not delivered?
