I'm a LMA fan but very disappointed in his defense. I'm surprised a guy just under 7' with long arms, great athleticism, good vertical, can't get more rebounds and more block shots. He has all the ability in the world to be an elite help side defender/rebounder but seems more concerned with getting out on the break, which is a joke since we don't fast break. I hate our combination of Frye and LMA. I've said it a million times I would like another low post scorer so we don't have to shoot so many damn jump shots. Obviously LMA has the ability to be a low post scorer but he shy's away from the block way to often for my liking. His turn around post up move is virtually unstoppable because of his long arms (McHale/Sheed like).
Come on now, I didn't say that, lol. It would take one hell of a trade for me to ever want to trade him but doesn't mean I can't be disappointed in some aspects of his game. He is simply one of the most talented young big men in the game but he's using half his ability. IMO- he should be Marion (his Suns days) like rebounder and defender. Both rebounding and defending are about heart
With everything you just said there, then how does that make sense to put Outlaw at PF instead? You just got worse in all those categories.
Maybe Outlaw wouldn't have to be the PF. Maybe (drumroll) JOEL FREELAND could be! Here's the webpage of his team.
IIRC, in a practice workout session before Oden went down with his knee injury, Freeland pissed Greg off because he (Joel) dunked over him. Don't know how his outside game has progressed but think that he liked to mix it up down low. JAFO GO BLAZERS 波特兰篮球队好棒 很利害
Check this out (Freeland is #19 in yellow. Dunks at :40 and 1:09, and a block at 1:02): [Edit: the embed code given by the site doesn't seem to work, but the link above does. If you can fix the embed, feel free.] More videos here.
Thanks! This is just fantastic. Pritchard's boy is looking very good. Seems to have better size than any of our back up PFs. I couldn't tell if he has any range though. If not, he's strictly a center I suppose. Blazer fans, we are pretty much solid at the 5!
I watched highlights of the British team qualifying for the Olympics (or Worlds - whatever it was, they qualified) and aside from Deng, the star of the team was actually Pops Mensah-Bonsu. He looked like young Ben Wallace out there. Freeland did well in limited minutes, but I'd rather have Pops right now (and I'd rather have him than Diogu and certainly than Randolph). Unfortunately he signed for one of the MAJOR Spanish Clubs (I'm pretty sure it's Juventut Badalona, Rudy's old club).
