The Bulls are back on the 94 feet of hard wood again to face Brandon Roy and the Blazers. There is alot of talk that Derrick Rose is alot like Brandon Roy, so we will see if he can rise up to the occasion tonight and show what he's made of. This shouldn't be a problem because Rose showed just how good he could be against the Lakers last night and he hasn't begun to reach his potential. However, this game is a more winnable game for us and we should take advantage of that. Gordon MUST have a better shooting night, Deng will need to be more aggressive on defense and play like he was worth the the near 80 million dollar investment...Tyrus will need to play smart on both ends like he did last night and whoever will be guarding Oden need to be ready to unleash their beast because Oden is strong as hell and get in the lane just like he did in college *looks at Aaron Gray*....stop Oden and Roy and the Blazers will have a hard time competing unless La Marcus or another key player steps up. Key Players: Rose Gordon Deng Gray Off the Bench: Noc *looks at Noc really hard*...He needs to produce whether it be defensively or offensively but preferably on both ends (obv.), Joakim Noah...play with energy on defense and perhaps put the ball in the hoop if given the chance. Tip: Taking focus off of individual players: we as a team need to not turn over the ball like crazy and force wild shots...or if we have to force a shot every now and then, be sure someone is around the basket to get the offensive board And with this stuff being said: Tune in on ESPN, WGN and League Pass Broadband or Audio at 10:30 est, 9:30 cst 8:30 mount 7:30 pst. Lets play some better basketball tonight.
I noticed the Bulls havent won a road game yet...I want to say they will win tonight but Im not totally convinced. Rose is gonna have a field day with Blake. Hopefully Gray can deter Oden from having a good game
2nd game of a back to back on the road.... pffft good luck with that Portland is not an easy place to win.
It's also Portland's second of a back to back as well....They played in GS last night Portland has the advantage, but only because they are at home. This willbe a tough game because no one on our team can guard Rose, and no one on our team has yet to figure out how to play with Oden, who they can't guard.
I predict this is another coming out game for Oden and Aldridge, who really ought to be able to have his way with Noah, Tyrus, Gooden and Gray.
The Blazers defense is crap, so Rose/Gordon should tear them up. Gordon will want to come out and have a big game to make up for his last two poor shooting nights. We are definitely much more talented than Portland in the backcourt, but their front court advantage...like most teams, is overwhelming over us. Hopefully Oden's body can't handle the second day of a back to back too well.
So Hughes is on Roy, Rose is on Blake and BG is guarding Bautoum, the fifth option again? The guy who's been told to just concentrate on rebounding and defense?
Our frontcourt is largely responsible for this early deficit. Their defense sucks and they aren't boxing out. Can't do much about Fernandez hitting step back threes. When Gordon isn't having a monster first quarter, we get down big like this. We need to get an 04-05 Eddy Curry like option for the first quarters.
Gordon's ice cold. There's no phrase in the English language I know of to describe how crummy Tyrus is playing. He just went straight into a Oden-Frye double team and shot an airball about 2 feet over the basket. On a 7 foot shot.
That sad thing is that one is essentially a #2 draft pick. Rudy Gay, LaMarcus Aldridge, Brandon Roy....
Yeah, that was fucked up. I have the impression Tyrus has snapped over the last couple games. He's just completely out of control.
I think Hunter got that charge because he was too busy trying to figure out what the hell Noah was doing/supposed to be doing on that play. I'm still wondering myself. The Bulls really need one more solid big guy. Without him, we're not gonna make the playoffs.
Playoffs?!? Playoffs!?!? (Sorry, couldn't resist...) I'd settle for some consistency from somebody under the age of 27.
Yeah, we should probably flat out cut him right now and keep him the hell away from our team. Paxson idiotically already picked up the option for him for next year.
Is Noc playing SF again and trying to guard Roy? I thought Vinnie had figured that one out. At least TT was going to the basket on that one.
