I think Shaq's first year in Miami was pretty deserving of an MVP. His presence alone turned that team from a 42 win team to a 50+ win team.
You may be right, but I think the Suns transformation was due in large part to the change in coaching philosophy. Mike D'Antoni really let the reigns go on this team and let them play to their strengths. Plus...with a team as loaded in talent as they were..it would have been a shame to see them have a losing season. Seriously...that team was loaded. Joe Johnson, Amare, Nash, Marion...yea, if you managed to have a bad season, that would take talent. I won't really discount Nash's first MVP though, because I know that he did make a huge impact on the team, but I think it was more a change in philosophy than anything that did it.
On a sidenote....this thread and a couple others are keeping me awake. It's 3:30 in the morning here in Iowa, and instead of sleeping, I continue to post.
Grow some balls and keep posting. It's 1:25AM and I'm sick as fuck and I'm here reading you guys debate this stuff
Oh I'll keep posting, as long as there's threads worth posting in. And as long as I don't start dozing off here at the keyboard. Not gonna lie though, I am pretty damn tired. I've been up since 10:00am yesterday, had class, and then worked from 6 to midnight. Plus I'm under oodles of stress. To say the least, I'm getting tired, lol.
I'm appalled. You better recognize that Anthony "The love child of Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, Rick Barry, Larry Bird, Chris Mullin, Jesus Shuttlesworth, Abraham Lincoln, MLK Jr., and Oprah" Morrow is the truth.
LOL I was up at 6:00 am yesterday, stayed home sick, went to bed at 8 pm, woke up at 12am toss and turned, pissed off my wife until 1:40 and have been up ever since. just took a 30 min break to go put my 1 yr old back to sleep start work in 3 hours 20 mins damn... I'm dumb. You're right about the change in philosophy in Pheonix.. it did help them a lot. I was more impressed with Nash's 2nd MVP as Amare went down and they lost JJ and Q-Rich and still won 56 games with 3 new starters to go with Nash and Marion.
Wow...have fun with that life. I couldn't imagine having kids (though I'm only 22). I have no life as it is, and that would just kill it even more. Yea...it's now 4am...I really SHOULD go to bed, since I want to be up at about 11am so I can make it to class on time... And yea, Nash's second MVP was awfully impressive. I have no clue how they did that with Amare "playing" only 3 games that year.
Its gotta be LeBron so far for sure. He will get it if his team wins over 50 games. I think he would have got it last year if he could have got his team to win 52-56 games, as his stats were insane... but Kobe has deserved one for a while now, as he was the best player in the NBA for a couple years.
