Source Good news for Dallas. Him not being able to play the next couple games isn't really something I'm worried about. He can use that time to get in to better shape.
As a Cowboy fan, I'm happy in the sense that it's good for our coverage, and our (currently nonexistent) punt return game. As someone who's unbiased...this guy really didn't deserve it and if I were Goodell I wouldn't have let him back.
he didn't deserve it? he didn't even do anything wrong to get suspended. goodell is a moron with all his fines and suspensions.
He fought his bodyguard! Pacman Jones fought his bodyguard. After all the crap it took to get him back in the league...he fights his bodyguard and gets kicked out of the league...and is now let back in. By doing so it totally discounts his previous suspension and trivializes this no-tolerance policy of Goodell.
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/stories/101108dnspocowdate.301282c.html there was no reason to suspend pacman in this case. for him to miss 6(i think) games over it is ridiculous. if they were going to suspend him for this they never should have let him back in the league in the first place.
if the cowboys thought the league was going to suspend pacman, they would have done it themselves. teams always do to attempt to lessen the punishment and i bet that way the cowboys wouldn't be paying a fine.
No they wouldn't have. They want Pacman and have done/are doing/will do everything they can to trivialize the incident and make him seem innocent of any wrong doing so that Goodell lets him back in. If the team suspends him then it's clear he's guilty of something serious. That's why everything out of Valley Ranch was "embracing his alcoholism" and doing what they could to help him.
the thing is the incident was nothing. how do you suspend a guy when there is no police report and no complaint filed by anyone? it's just more evidence of goodell trying to do whatever the fuck he wants(like all the random fines that come in every game).
Well obviously someone complained, or else the police wouldn't have been called. It's just disappointing that this fight had to happen in the first place, like why the hell did anything have to happen? Ok so it was only a little fight, but wtf this is Pacman Jones. He should just cut out all this shit completely. I mean I've never fought somebody in a public place. It's not really a hard thing to avoid.
In theory...the suspension was both good and bad. Good, because we got compensation for Pacman not playing all season (5th rounder, I believe) and we also got a good look at Scandrick and Jenkins, both of whom looked pretty damn solid in the PT. His ass also got put in alcohol rehab, which was something he needed anyways, so hopefully that helped him out and shit like this won't happen again...and if it does, well...it hopefully won't be alcohol induced. The bad, obviously, was that he missed a good amount of games and is going to miss at least two more before we get him back.
