Listen I'm reading early reports and the Clippers have 18 teams asking about him I hope we are one of those 18 him on a frontline w/ Brook Lopez for the future would be a heck of a tandem. Boone could be the key to getting this done so there really shouldn't be any arguement on this. Discuss.
HOW would having kaman help brook develop?? he would take playing time away from him, no? camby could play along side him better than kaman.
now we're talking. we can use him in a S&T in '10, right? Simmons, Ager, Stro for Wallace. If they want a pick too...MAYBE. And I'm not just mentioning those 3 players for Wallace because they'd work salary wise, I believe they will. But I actually think they'd be a good fit for the Cats.
That's too much. I think Simmons makes more than Wallace BY HIMSELF. Simmons and Sean will probably be within the 25% limit, but I somehow doubt Charlotte would go for that.
Sub Boone for Sean they might do it. Heck IDK how he wasn't in your original proposal, injury prone big, can't shoot FTs, has no jumper, can only rebound here and there is not instant offense, is an average defender..You need to deal him while you still can.
How is this a problem ? Where are you going ? we're not winning a championship this year, you get back a Kaman or Wilcox or even Gerald Wallace that's better than not having a back up C, I'd want a back up C that can atleast give me more than what Boone does. Heck I want to put a scoring big w/ Lopez so he can get open shots and develop a bit quicker.
No like, you really don't have a back up center besides Sean, and he's undersized. It's not about having a good back up center (I think Boone is a good one), but Dumpy's talking about having one period.
So you rather not let Sean develope ? while also not adding a star young SF or PF to the starting unit for Josh Boone ? help me understand this ?
Right; you just can't compete with just one true center on the roster. You aren't going to put Yi, Ryan, or Najera there. I guess Swift can play some center, or so I'm told. Boone is pretty solid, even with his deficiencies. Of course, the opportunity to acquire someone like Wallace would be hard to pass up (depending on the price, of course). He is probably better than RJ overall (even if more injury prone), and his salary is much less. A package like Simmons plus Boone would essentially turn RJ and Boone into Yi and Wallace, which looks pretty good, I guess. If the Nets had to throw in a first-rounder to get Wallace, I'm not sure I'd do it, though. Maybe the Nets could then immediately resign Krstic and bring him over to serve as the backup center? They'd have a roster spot.
I don't see Sean ever being better than Boone is right now. He can't block out. He has horrible timing on rebounds. He has no jumpshot. Blocking shots and running fast are the only things he's good at and I don't see that changing. It hasn't in the past year and a half.
