I saw again what I have always seen. A guy who is a physical phenom w/some very good basketball skills who is almost un-guardable because of his rare combination of size and speed.
I also saw a guy who is therefore capable of getting to the foul line because of said attributes and add a few more trips b/c of the NBA superstar-Stern rule, plus one of those "choice" teams that is allowed to play a packed-down illegal zone for an entire second half while the other team can't(See Stern again).

What does this all add up to?

    LOUSY F'IN BASKETBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys really want this crap on our team?

It's boring, it's not real, it's surely not enjoyable. It's not basketball. Those Nets Hawks games, even the loss to the Pacers....Real basketball....last night was crap and a waste of my time.
And yes, if we had won(and we're allowed to play real basketball in the 2nd half) I would still say:
I HATE WATCHING LEBRON JAMES play Basketball.

NO LEBRON..... say it with me: "NO LEBRON"

I'd rather win and look ugly than lose and look pretty.

I didn't think there was illegal defenses anymore. Zone was legalized. Only illegal thing on defense was 5 second violations.

    Throw me in that boat.

While I'm enjoying the season so far... I'd hope the Nets build up to something, instead of sticking around in a state like the Bulls (few years ago), Grizzles or a team like that (Playoffs to years upon years of failed rebuilding).

Dude are you on crack?? First of all yes i do want this "crap" on our team. Second the loss to Pacers was not fun to watch and was far away from real basketball.and o yea YES LEBRON.

Its plain retarded to not want the best player in the league on your team and hes only 23.You're just mad that he outplayed the whole nets squad.

    Totally agree with you.

Right now, IMO it is ok to look ugly and lose ugly so the young guys can have PT so they can eventually win pretty while still looking ugly until we we can get a pretty FA when we got UGLY MONEY.

I did not say He is crap. I did not say he is a bad basketball player. I apologize to the King James nation if it came out that way.
Buried in my self-confessed hyperbole is simply this:

Save a moment or two of athletic prowess,
I rarely enjoy watching LeBron James play basketball.
I will draw a parallel to Shaquille. Extraordinary athleticism with incredible size.
But not good basketball to watch.
And yes, I do want to win,
I just don't want to win with his help,
    or David Stern's.

Damn, Does VC have that? I guess not. If VC had that we would have won a few more games ourselves.

I think back in the day vc got that kind of treatment. The past few years the refs don't give vince the super star treatment like he used to get.

Jordan got it, Bird got it and it used to make my blood boil. Let them play the damn game the way it was meant to be played. I can't stand the superstar status the refs give some players. I used to love it when it was the end of jordans career when the refs finally stopped giving him the phantom calls, and he would just look at the refs with such contempt.

Seeing as how I'd actually like to be on the right side of one of those 106-82 blowouts, and seeing as how I saw this man do it to us, I'm definitely taking LeBron. What kind of basketball fan are you anyway? I'm guessing you like to win, but only if it's "pretty." Hah name me one NBA finals team in the last 15 years that has one the NBA finals looking "pretty." I'm sure you love the lakers too, but they got their pretty asses ran out of the gym by the "ugly" celtics last year. Dude, get your priorities straight.

Winning > 'Winning Pretty' >> Losing >> 'Losing Ugly'.

Surely you would rather your team win pretty than win ugly?

Both are accounted for in the more general category of "winning," meaning that as long as the team wins, that is better than a mandate that the win is "pretty."

Don't worry about Lebron. Ratner's company FCE is down to $3.51/share.

preparing for the disappointment of lebron not coming here?

but people are right that not getting lbj to come here isn't the end of the world. bosh and wade will be FAs that year as well. we'll be under the cap with 2 good vets (vinsanity and the blur), character veteran players (najera, dooling) and good young players (lopez, yi, anderson, cdr). and we have tons of 1st rd draft picks one or two who might become the next lebron or the next kobe or THE next MJ...the future looks good...
