turns out it's for Jamal Crawford not Rose... wtf is the Knicks doing trading away their best scorer???
must be a busniess move not a basketball move imo.

No joke, of all people to trade away and they pick Jamal?

    GS wins out.

It's about dumping big contracts to make a play for Lebron in 2010.

Zach is next to go . . . rumor is he is going to the clippers.

I heard this rumor as well, any idea who the Clippers are sending out for him?

    Rumor:

"The Knicks, Warriors and Clippers are talking about a three-way deal that would involve Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins being sent in a cap-space clearing move that would bring in Tim Thomas, Cuttino Mobley and Al Harrington."

Don't have a link . . . but it sounds like Crawford to GS for Al and Zach to Clips for Mobley and TT.

Thanks. Sounds like a viable deal. The Clippers are trying to free up minutes for Eric Gordon and they need to move Mobley to get it done.

I wonder how the Clippers are going to rotate their frontline with Camby, Kaman & ZBo.

Could be a sign that Kaman is out in LA

doubtful.. at least not for anything the Knicks can offer.

The Clipps would have to be idiots to trade away a top 5 Center in the league IMO.

I think Randolph and Kaman could complement each other well. At least, far better than the Randolph + Curry experiment worked out.

Oil and a lit lighter work out better for the environment than Randolph and Curry worked out

Clearly a cap move, in my opinion. I think Harrington fits in well in NY, but it's more of a move to make room for one of the 2010 FAs.

I don't think the Knicks care if Harrington fits or not. They are clearing cap for the free agent class of 2010. Great job by Walsh pulling the trigger on those deals.

Exactly. The Knicks don't care about winning now. Our best case scenario was a first round exit to Boston/Detroit. This move gives us a very good shot at landing a superstar or anyone that can change the face of this franchise.

It also frees up Wilson Chandler and gives room to re-sign Lee/Robinson.

That Tom Gugliotta (!) trade is starting to look quite nice right about now,

Utah receives a 2009 New York first-round pick (top 22 protected in 2009 and unproteced in 2010) (Tom Gugliotta trade 021904) via Phoenix (Marbury trade) Phoenix receives a 2005 New York Knicks first-round pick. (010504 Marbury trade).

    I haven't seen you in a minute what's good?

Hopefully the Knicks get their act together by then, but if not we can just sign former #1, #4, or #5 over picks.

Nice deals for the Knicks...Jalen Rose said (lol) he heard from a source that Lebron and Bosh are planning to sign together with the Knicks...lol.

I wanted to chat about how this deal effects the other teams involved.

Clippers: With the addition Zach....Will they deal Kaman? Or go for something better and deal Camby? With Camby he has a more desireable contract that ends in two years not to mention that what ever they got back in the deal would be gravy since the Nuggets pretty much gave him to them. Kaman's contract may be too hefty to trade away...meaning they won't get anything what they think he's worth.

GS: With the addition on Crawford....will this hurt the development of Morrow? I like that guy, but this deal will eat into his playing time
