Why do you have Jackson so far down on your depth charts? lol This is a great trade for the Warriors by getting Crawford and is now my #5 team in the West if they can get Monta back and healthy. They have so many scorers now with Crawford, it's just plain silly. I don't understand this from the perspective of Knicks because they just traded away their playoff hopes unless.....Starbury's re-emergence happens On a side note, Utah might of just gotten a lotto pick for next year

Nice trade. We definitely got the better player in the deal. Crawford is a guy who is probably better suited for that point forward role than Jack is. He can shoot, handle, pass, drive, ok rebounder, fairly athletic. Should help on the break and he fits well next to Monta. I agree with you guys that someone's gotta go now to clear space at SG but I think its gotta be more than just Belinelli. I'm thinking either Mags or Azu. Jack, Crawford, Mags, Azu, Morrow is way too many players for two positions (that's excluding Beli). Three of those guys are making 9 + mils a year. All of them are averaging 15 + ppg. There's just not enough playing time to go around. Also factor in CJ Watson's minutes since they've gone up lately and we've got another combo guard in Demarcus Nelson who's ok who could give us depth if we traded some of these guys off. Additionally, Monta is coming back in a month or two and with that many guards we're taking minutes away from Wright too since Mags is playing the 4. New smallball lineup?: Craw/Watson/Jack Jack/Morrow/Craw Azu/Jack/Mags Mags/Wright/Randolph Beans/Turiaf/Wright New regular (or tall ball?) lineup: Crawford/Watson/Jack Jack/Azu/Morrow Mags/Azu/Morrow Wright/Mags/Randolph Beans/Turiaf And what about when Monta comes back? Monta/Watson/Crawford Crawford/Azu/Morrow Jack/Azu/Morrow Mags/Wright/Randolph Beans/Turiaf/Wright
Oops, I left Marco out in my post above. He should've been in there, too. PG: Monta, Crawford, Watson, Jax, Williams SG: Morrow, Buke, Crawford, Monta, Jax, Marco SF: Mags, Buke, AR, Jax C: AB, Turiaf PF: BW, Mags, AR, Kurz Yeah, I think Marco, Laptop, and maybe our one true PG CJ are gone. I hate to be DeMarcus Nelson. He's stuck in Bakersfield.
If we can trade a combo (2) of Mags, Azu, or Bellinelli, that would help. Azubuike has the highest trade value given his performance and salary and I think we can definitely package that with Mags or Bellinelli (the latter being more plausible). We just have to wait until the no-trade clause is lifted from Azu's contract (since he just signed). Just a THOUGHT.
Jax? He's Captain Jack, so I suppose he can play anywhere he wants . I'm having trouble just writing down who our players are let alone keep track of minutes. Its gonna be a nightmare if Nellie decides to play all of them.
lol You had Jax last in every position it seemed like.... Where do Warriors see themselves finishing in the West now?
I think you got the gist of this Run BJM. Nellie would have figure out which squads to rotate in and out as it's too hard to keep track of individuals. But small ball, I'd have: Crawford-Morrow-Jack-Mags-Beans for now until Monta-Crawford-Jack-Mags-Beans.
So I think we got the better of the trade, now tomorrow's question will be (after how does Crawford fit, obviously), who engineered this trade? And will Rowell jump out and take credit for it even if it was Mullin?
I think we got the better of this deal since we're getting a guy who can start, be a go to guy, handle the rock and play with Monta when he comes back. He can also play some PG and be a big PG at that. Everyone's talking about New York and how they are going to get LeBron, but they also have to field a team that's got a chance at a championship. There's the rub. Duhon-Robinson/QRich-Chandler-Harrington-Lee-Gallinari ain't gonna get it done even with D'Antoni as coach. Eddy Curry? Are you kidding me?
The Warriors are in a position to really start getting into trade discussions with other teams with the amount of talented guards that are on the team. I am first excited to see what this new roster can do. But second I am interested in seeing what kind of situations develop between now and February's trade deadline, to see what moves may be out there. I am interested in how quickly the team can fix out any kinks that come along with the deal. CJ Watson was really coming along (which has been overlooked with the rise of Morrow) and there was some good chemistry coming and growing. I don't know, and kind of doubt that Jamal will intentionally cause there to be a loss of chemistry, but I am interested in how it all folds out.
With the Knicks' moves today, they'll have enough money free where they can do a lot more than just sign LeBron. They can sign a couple of other guys to put around him, or sign a second top-tier free agent, such as Amare Stoudemire or Chris Bosh. Not to mention that the Knicks do have a few good young pieces, such as Duhon, Lee, and Gallinari, that could very well improve and become quality players come 2010. They'll also likely have a pretty good draft pick next summer (providing they don't owe it to another team, can't confirm one way or the other), to add to their stable.
Looks like CJ watson loses out because guess who most likely will be our starting point guard (for now) while the other guys get bumped up one position taller. And Nelson's pretty much going to deny playing time for any true power forwards so we can kiss more of our rebounding, defense, and second chance points / inside scoring ability good bye. We were a lot better when we had a secondary weakside defender who could rebound on either end of the floor. None of this small forward at power forward crap. It pisses me off how Nelson says that he won't use Maggette at power forward at start of the season and look at what he does. He's totally going against the team that I totally envisioned this year, which was a team that was immensely improved rebounding and moving the ball around. We finally have size and he doesn't want to use it. We can't move the ball around if too many guys prefer to attack from the outside in. We can't lock down on perimeter guys if we're too busy double teaming the post. We need a guy who can clog the lane and put up point blank range shots and defend his own guy. We have those guys. Let's use not 1 let's use 2 at the same time. And if not for their scoring, how about their rebounding and weakside defense when our slow perimeter defenders get beat (because we got piss poor defenders at times)? At least we could have two big rebounders have a chance at the ball rather than a small guy who has to jump high to get the rebound. Play Turiaf, Randolph, or Wright, or somebody that is not a small forward next to Biedrins. Dang it Nelson pisses me off sometimes and that's why we lose to teams we should win. We can't trust our perimeter defenders and you know Crawford is going to suck defensively and take more shots instead of feeding it inside. I'm sorry I just got to vent.
At the risk of being blasted by you GS fans....but what about inquiring value for Morrow? His value is at an all time high right now!
Not after that performance it isn't. 2-9 with 1 rebound and 1 assist in 33+ minutes. His two freethrows looked sweet though. Oh well, just like it's wrong to appoint him king of the world after 2 stellar games, it's wrong to give him up for dead after 1 bad performance too. He's not going to shoot 75% every night but he's a lot better than 2-9.
LOL. Dream on. If the Knicks can land LeBron, then it will be the biggest free agent signing in the history of the NBA. I think it will even surpass the Shaq signing by the Lakers. The NBA isn't like MLB where there is no salary cap, so even the HPITLBN (highest payroll in the league bar none) will have to step back and take a breather if the Knicks can land LeBron. That said, I'm not saying it will be impossible because the Celtics were able to turn it around in one year's time, but I think you guys would need to have a very high draft pick or expensive expiring contract to dangle in case it becomes a sign and trade. Also, at least one of the guys you mentioned will have to be an all-star or close to it. As for landing more than one big name free agent, I don't think it has happened in the history of the NBA so saying Wade and Bosh or Stoudemire seems out of the question.
I see where your coming from, but when it's all said and done...this is NewYork were talking about...one of (if not the) biggest media/market city a player can sign with! Money talks...and just the amount of endorsments a player will get from playing in the big apple is appealing...Money talks...loudly! If LeBron signs with New York (he gets that fat-ass 10mil Nike bonus for signing in a top 3 market) I'm sure the opportunity to join forces with King in the East will be just as appealing as the money to another top free agent.
