-Holy shit. -Vince Carter was incredible...for most of the game. He was extremely un-clutch at times in the 4th before beginning his domination. It all started when he hit that three from the corner, that really got him going. Then it was athletic layups and clutch shots all the way to that unbelievable three over Parker. Continued his domination in OT, and of course had that game winning dunk at the end. I love Vince Carter. -Harris got the whole team fired up after re-entering the game. Only fault he had was missing that free throw at the end. But I forgive him. -Jarvis Hayes with another good game. Very clutch. -More improvement from Sean Williams. He looked more confident than any other game this season. He didn't rush his shots, and didn't force them up either. Plus, he had some nice passes to Anderson. -Lopez with a very impressive performance against two great big men. -Anderson was impressive as well. Not much to say about either of them other than they kept their cool and didn't give up. Great traits for players and especially for rookies. -Simmons was crap other than that alley oop pass to Carter at the end. I'm probably forgetting some stuff....I'm still in the midst of extreme adrenaline.
Yi was worse than Simmons, but he deserves a chance to put it together. Simmons is passable as a 20-minute-a-night starter if Yi is hitting his shots. After three weeks of colliding with and elbowing his own teammates, Sean finally took out an opposing player. Way to go, Sean! Ryan is awesome.
Yi was horrible, but we need to keep his confidence up, keep giving him minutes. Can't give up now. Oh, and what a game by Frank. Kudos to the little man.
Frank coached a great game. I thought he kept VC on the bench too long from late third to mid 4th, and that was why VC looked so iced coming back in. But it all worked out in the end. Both plays to VC, end of regulation and end of OT, were TERRIFIC play calls. Always has been one of the best coaches out of time outs in the league. Simmons was great on the inbounds alley oop, but if we just had a decent starting SF, we would be SO much better.
Sean Williams wise, he played a good game and has been for a while. If he would get stronger he would be a beast, he still gets pushed around but he has such a better idea of what hes doing now.
anyone know where i can get a copy of this game or highlights of every VC play on this game... i stopped watching in the 3rd quarter cuz i had to go somewhere... but im willing to payyy for it. NOOOOO!!!
one of the things i have to say after watchin the game... is i love how sean is so into the game!!! it makes me happy to see how excited he is about the game and he played amazing
excellent posts all around, couldn't agree more! This game was very, very inspiring. It made me REAL proud to be a Nets fan (let's face it, there's times when it's hard to say that! ) I just hope for one thing from this game: it stays with the players. This could be the game which sparked something mentally with some of the players, something the rookies will never forget, something the vets have been saying since camp: this is a damn good team, and if they try hard, good things can happen. Can the Nets of last year have played a game like that? I can't say yes.
I am so fucking pissed off I missed this game! Especially since I could have watched it because it's the weekend. Fucking gay, today had to be the day that we had an exchange. Interesting tid-bit from the Toronto Sun: I had no idea.
sean williams has found his niche with the nets....enforcer! kiki bring in the oak and dennis rodman to mentor this kid...and teach him to grab 20 rebs a game as well!
