Some people have said that the west is weaker this year because there are less teams that have as high records as those on the East coast. I've read over and over again, not here, that the East has caught up and passed the West in overall talent level. Then I look at the standings, should Denver finish losing tonight to LA, they are down 20 so I figure it's safe to say, there will be 5 of the 8 teams all have 8 wins and 5 losses. Another, New Orleans, is 6 and 5 they haven't played as many games, but many expect them to be the tops in the NBA. To me it really looks like the top teams in the West are really beating up on each other. I love the fact that our Blazers are right there in the middle of it.
I agree, all of the West teams are coming up together and pounding the heck out of each other. I don't attribute the L's to strength in the East, but to having better competition out here. Someone look at W/L stats for West vs. East and see who is on top... the talent still lives out here.
The East is getting better, and the West isn't really getting any worse. It's a heavy weight battle every night in the Association these days. Entertaining. But scary. Portland is building their confidence. They have the talent.
