Nothing! The Blazer are playing better than expected (record wise) but the same damn 9 teams are still there battling for 8 spots. Who is going to falter? Denver is looking better than expected. Other teams are battling injuries but will improve, and a couple look vulnerable. Who is the one team that you think will lose in this 9 team race out west?

My guess is ...............whoever has the biggest injury. It will be that close, I think Dallas is the most vulnerable.

I can see Dallas, Spurs or Hornets missing out this year. Maybe two out of three. Denver looks good, Portland looks good and winning on the road. This will be a dog fight.

Too early to tell, but at this point the West looks extremely tough. Tough as ever. But NO ONE has had a tougher schedule than our Portland Trailblazers.......

That fact will pay dividends down the road, as long as we stay healthy.

With the same 13 games in, we were 5-8 last year (0-7 on the road). Our first road win wasn't until Dec 3, 2007 starting that 13 game winning streak. As of now we are 4-5 on the road and 4 -0 at home. Talk about a turn around from one season to the next!

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Well, the Blazers have played one of the toughest schedules so far, so that matters. If they stick around near the top through this stretch, they'll have the wind at their backs the rest of the season.

And as long as we don't play down to the competition which we certainly haven't done the last couple games.

Is it a 10 team race? Will the Clippers or Grizzlies rise up into the race?

Agreed. I hope we're past that. But I wouldn't be surprised if we slipped a little in that department. Just a *little* though. :pimp:

I can't imagine the Grizzlies rising up. As for the Clippers... well, they did trade for Z-Bo. So it'll depend on how he fits in with their team. This year's battle for the 8 seeds in the West may be wilder than last year.

    4-0 at home
    4-5 on the road.

    Dominate at home
Stay around .500 on the road.

I see playoffs if that keeps up, and at least 50 wins.

Let's say we go 35-6 at home and 20-21 on the road. That's 55 wins.

So yeah, it's a good recipe for success and would probably lead to a 3rd seed (winning the division) and HCA in the first round.

You can still get a 4th seed and no NCA with a division win.
