    Why would anyone think it was the football team? Football teams score far less than basketball teams.

    Texas Tech's football team is the second highest scoring NCAA Football team, so I can see why they used it, but yeah, 167 points for a football team is ridiculous...


    Although, Georgia Tech beat Cumberland in football 222-0 on October 7, 1916.
