Disagree, especially the Kings. Simmons has been that bad.

Yi someday might be a very good player. But right now he really stinks and the forward positions for the Nets are holding them back from taking it to another level as a team.

It's a tough call in my opinion. Yi obviously has all the tools to become a great PF in this league but his mentality and confidence seems to be what is holding him back. I'd keep him as a starter until he becomes more confortable and gets in the grove of things. And simmons should not be a starter, period.

Who gives a shit? On a night when the Nets prove they have potential this season and win a huge game in dramatic fashion, we are treated to a question that aims to be pissant and negative...and so very typical.

I think Yi's just in a slump. I'm almost thinking he's going to have an awesome game tonight against the Clippers.
As for Simmons, he's done little for me to like him, but has come through from time to time. I still prefer Hayes coming off the bench though, he helps out TONS off the bench. Simmons just seems a bit to stiff out there for me. Less athletic than RJ

Well it's pretty clear that Yi has lost his way since that game in Miami. Bringing him off the bench may not be a bad idea. He can go against the other team's 2nd team and maybe the Nets can run a few more plays through him. Right now he is missing open jump shots, committing silly fouls etc. He should look at how Bargnani has come on for the Raptors and look to do the same himself.

Simmons doesn't bother me all that much. He hasn't been taking too many shots, and has been hitting around 45% over the past few days. Defense from the SF is not as vital as other positions. Yes, I think that is the glaring place where the Nets should upgrade if they have a chance, but he isn't hurting the nets as much as Yi right now.

Yi is certainly not playing well but let's be realistic here. He would be hurting the Nets big time if he was playing major minutes and the Nets are getting blown out when he is on the floor. I think you'll find that's not what is happening because when he isn't playing well, Franks has certainly kept his minutes well down to negate him from having a negative impact on the team's performance.

I give a shit. Do you only want homerism here?

Okay fine, FCE was up on Friday! (But let's not mention that it's down over 90% from last year and its bonds are rated as junk)

He's been performing below expectations for a while now, so the neck injury isn't an excuse.

And his problems are above the neck.

Of course they both played their best game right after this thread was posted.

They don't need to carry the team, they just need to play their roles like they did tonight.

Wut! and I was all set to have a lynching party! I'll put the torches back in storage. Funny, Yi and Simmons have a good game and everyone is confused, like WTF, who can we hate now?

Not every player in the NBA is an All-Star. What do they need to show you?

You were the one who was so adamant about young players getting all the playing time and now you are complaining that Yi is such a weak player at his position.

Then when he has a good game you say "show me more". What's that about?
