Ducks fans are very annoying. Just the simple fact that a lot of Duck fans on here think the ducks still have a chance at the RB... The Ducks dont stand a chance at the Rose Bowl. First off, just to get to the tie breaker the ducks would have to hope they coud beat OSU in Corvallis. Then hope that USC looses to UCLA just to get to the tie breaker that they stand no chance at winning. The Tie Breaker goes to OSU if it is a 2 or 3 team tie breaker with USC or USC and UO.

No doubt -- should be interesting. Just hoping I don't get ulcers while watching it.

(I'm still not down with the whole OS thing -- am I the only one continuing to think it's absurd? I think I'll be an old man throwing the 'U' around with people thinking I'm a crazy codger.)

lol, what happened to such a civilized thread?! Reading through your posts, some of you really get angry over College Football.. I guess any thread that mixes the two teams is doomed to this.

mobes23, why so much hate towards UO??? I mean, I have friends and relatives that go to both schools and I go to at least one OSU and UO game with them each year. In fact two years ago, I was in Autzen when the Beavs beat USC. They announced the final score....and people cheered. I would think Oregon State fans would do the same (and maybe the majority do, I don't know for sure), since we're all Oregonians and would rather see each other do good rather than out of state teams. Perhaps you're just someone who takes this whole thing a little over the top.

Hmm, i haven't seen most any duck fans talk about a BCS bowl period. Its a somewhat disappointing season but we are at least gettin' up to the point that we can challenge for a bcs spot year in and year out. We have a lot of resources to start getting to that point. The last 2 years have been pretty good, hopefully it gets better and we can get to double digit wins per year.

The thing about Duck fans, is no matter how myopic we are, and some of us are delusional, but we love our team. Man, we love our team. We will let them know when we aren't happy, but we will always be there no matter what.

Ha, ha -- no doubt, I AM over the top in the forum. In real life, I'm less so, but I still love talking trash with Duck fans. That said, the best way I can describe it is to wind the clock back to 1991 (yeah, I'm getting old when my references are that far back.) Duck fans 2008 are pretty much the same as Husky fans 1991. Both sets think they're a little bit better than everyone else and that, simultaneously, everyone loves secretly loves them. It's an attitude that gets old.

I think fans of the two teams would be behaving very differently if the roles were reversed and the Ducks had their Rose Bowl destiny in their own hands. I know I'd be quietly watching the results on Saturday, checking tiebreaker rules and keeping the hope up. I would not be publicly dissing the team ahead of us in the standings and acting like they can't win on the road (when the facts don't support it.) As it is, I feel like I have to defend my team and it's more than a little ridiculous.

Sorry man, but you can't call something "bottom line" when you can't even define it. What does "subpar" mean in this context? Do you mean subpar compared to our home record? Well then, subpar wouldn't be surprising, since we are undefeated at home. Subpar compared to the rest of the Pac-10? That just isn't true.

Obviously the Beavs play better at home. Almost every team in the nation does. What is your point? If we were REALLY THAT bad on the road, we wouldn't be near the top of the Pac-10 over and over. Something no other team in the Pac-10 (other than USC) can say over the last 10 years.

Then blame the NCAA committee for what team OSU plays against in the Bowls. Don't blame OSU for low RPI bowl opponents. Stop ripping on OSU. Perhaps having a winning bowl streak helps with recruits and press?

Yes, OSU tends to start off weak in their record but at least they develop an identity and finish off strong.

Wow, what a win tonight. Classic gritty OSU win. I had visions of Serna/LSU 2.0 but Kahut came through in the clutch. And Sammie Frickin Straughter is the man. Get well soon, Quizz and Moevoa. We're going to need you for the Rose Bowl (and could help in the Civil War...).

I would be surprised if Quizz is ready for the Civil War, but we can hope. The early diagnosis was a slightly seperated shoulder. I would think that you would need at least a couple of weeks to recover from that.

Pretty sure the next time MAS RipCity compliments the Beavers without a back-handed insult then followed up by more shit talking about the Beavers will be the first time.

Get off your high horse buddy
I gave OSU their credit, it was a nice comeback, but anyone could see Zona played to lose, was that OSU's fault? No, but it was still the truth.
They also played pretty bad prevent D. I give OSU credit for taking advantage.
I also had to work in Corvallis for over 3 years so I can only stand so much orange and black!:NOTMARIS:

I don't have a high horse - it is simply true. I have never seen you post a compliment about OSU without adding a back-handed insult into it to suggest that somehow the opponent screwed up so OSU was lucky in that regard, OSU didn't get a lucky call, or any other various yet similar things.

Just look at your response - you did it again. You had to throw in that the Wildcats played really bad in some aspect instead of simply stating "Good win by the short-handed Beavs".

But please continue to think that you don't do this (or a lot of Duck fans in general don't do this).

I'll continue sitting in my normal-elevated chair.

So...OSU did NOT benefit from UA running up the gut 3 straight times with the lead?
Where I come from, that is playing not to lose.
Usually when one team wins, it has a little to do with their performance and a little to do with how the other team performs.
OSU took advantage of UA's mistakes which good teams do, but it still doesn't discount UA made mistakes. That is a part of sports. I never said it was the SOLE reason OSU won either, just pointing out UA's mishaps in the 4th quarter because Mike Stoops' coached teams are terrible.
Its the truth, just deal with it.
