Im going with Yi. We don't see those 27 point games out of him often. Carter can do what he did today with 2 ankles sprains. Nothing new there. When Yi is hot... he is hot. Lighting it up from all over the floor. Driving, shooting, rebounding, blocking shots. Ugh.. only if he can do that everynight. ZERO personal fouls.

I went with Yi, Carter is a close second.

I do like how our offense was well spread tonight and everyone got in on the scoring.

I voted VC although I probably should've voted Yi.

Well, just to offer a slightly different perspective, I went with Simmons. By far the best game of his brief Nets career, great 3-point shooting in the first to really help the Nets recover from a slow start. Two outstanding drives and dishes to Lopez for dunks. Good defense throughout.

Yi's game was more impressive in absolute terms, obviously, but Yi has had at least 3-4 excellent games prior to this one. Simmons hasn't, so I wanted to recognize him. If he could give this to the Nets even one out of every 3 games, it would help tremendously.

Simmons was good today, i'm not giving up on him anytime soon. His only problem is that he's a bit of a ball hog.

He played with Redd and Mo williams for 3 seasons... bound to pick up some bad habits.

Uh, Devin went to the line 14 times. Holy crap. I haven't been watching the games - is he going to pull a Wade and be injured by the halfway point in the season or what?

He's been initiating the contact, really. Not too many hard fouls to speak of.

    Bobby Simmons.

Jeez, at least make the guy a choice in the poll!

He rebounded well, showed some slick passing skills and played great defense.

You could see Yi cranking up on a couple monster dunks before getting fouled. One of these days he's gonna posterize someone...

Going by the players' standards, it has to be Yi or Simmons.
But if you just have to say who was the best Nets player overall yesterday, of course it was VC easily.

Simmons and Yi had great games by their standards, while VC had an average game for himself, still VC had a better game than these 2...

VC for POTG, you haters ;)

People who chose Simmons tried too hard to distinguish themselves from the majority. While the game might have been good for our expectations towards Simmons, the Player of the Game had to go towards Yi or Carter.

No, I voted for who I thought was the guy who contributed most to the win.

Not everything is about scoring the most or having the best stats. It's about playing at a level above what is expected. When players do that, the team wins.
