From the looks of this thread, I like our announcers less than most of you all. Mike Rice is embarrassing, and I actually find Barrett's homerism far more annoying because it's sometimes subtle and perhaps even subconscious. Whenever an opponent player does something good, the Mikes act like it's a surprise or that player is playing above their ability, and every mundane thing a Blazer does is gushed over. Don't get me started on the excuse-making. I will say the Suns' announcers were just as bad; When Grant Hill came in and grabbed a completely uncontested rebound on a badly missed shot (there was no one within 10 feet of him from either team), the announcers said "Grant Hill comes in and makes an immediate impact!" That's the exact kind of stuff I'm talking about, though I can't think of any examples as specific from Barrett. In watching other teams' announcers, I am constantly and pleasantly surprised with the amount of praise they give the Blazers. The Kings are a recent example. The Mikes are not this way at all, as alluded to above. Although, I have considered the fact that our team may just have more young talent worth raving about than most teams...
